  1. Ignore the forms... they are not specific to visa type or embassy. Follow instructions on London embassy website.Yes write a cover letter and include date of medical and proposed wedding date. A far of wedding date will get you a far off interview date so take that in to account.Yes I believe you sign the form for the child.

  2. POE in Atlanta last week was a piece of cake and as soon as an officer saw my packet i was taken from the queue and to an empty booth. it took 15 minutes and i was done.

today we had a courthouse marriage and the guy performed it outside in the gardens which was absolutely wonderful <3

back soon to start AOS :)

congratulations and thank you to everyone of you August filers that have been there through this long journey

  3. After reading a few cases here of foreign spouses somehow damaging the child, or mistreating the child, your spouse has a right to know. I'm sorry but in long distance relationships... people can "fake" who they are very easily.

you dont truly know anyone until you have lived with them... it doesnt matter if they are immigrants or USC. i think statistics will show that the children are safer with someone who has gone through the time, expense, hassle, and background checks of the immigration process than someone from the childrens own country.

if it was just a regular boyfriend you had moving in with you then i could understand an ex wanting to know a little about them but because it will be someone you are about to, or already have married then the ex should trust your judgement. from personal experience though this is more about a controlling ex than concern for the kids.

  4. I do not think they have the "right", in a legal sense, but can certainly demand to know. I agree with the safety of the children. Too many horror stories out there where a woman, for example, invites her BF to live with her and the children are found injured or dead.

im pretty sure the OP doesnt need you pointing all this out to them as im also pretty sure that the OP will of given this a hell of a lot of though seen as there are children involved.

  5. i wasnt asked for a letter of intent at my interview but i took one just in case and i put "within 90 days" on it. the cover letter is asked for on the embassy website and the wedding date you put will help determine how quickly you are assigned an interview date... you put a date of 4 months away and those who put an earlier date will be given an interview before you. it only has to be a rough date if you dont have one set... i just put "early april".

  6. Well that's sobering. So what happens six months after the NOA1, I call, and it is lost? Do I have to re-file and wait another 5 months? Or maybe they can expedite in that case?

why are you so worried that it might be lost?? that was something that never once crossed my mind because i can honestly say that i havent ever seen a case of it happening on VJ.

just as night follows day... NOA2 will follow NOA1. it might not happen quite so quickly as that but it will happen because your case is exactly where it should be... sat in a box at USCIS along with every one elses that filed when you did :)

  7. Thanks for that Dan , My Fiancee just received notification and Lnd no. Should I book Medical now or wait till I receive Packet 3 myself in the UK?

so long as you have the LND case number and the police certificate then you can book the medical but there is always a small chance that the medical results will be misplaced if they arrive at the embassy before they log in your case. i know quite a few who have done it this way without a problem but it is up to you... it will save about 2 week at the most.

if you havent already done so then read through this thread as it contains all things London... http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/350185-london-2012-k1s-from-noa2-to-interview-thread/

  8. Ahmed went to pick up his passport and visa and the embassy told him we are now in Adminstrative Processing. I called and I was told they are probably reviewing the visa papers he submitted. They said there are a lot of cases and they didn't have time to review before his interview. Well he turned in the forms at 9:30, and his interview last Thursday was moved form 10:00 am to 2:00 pm, so I wonder what they were doing in that time. Ahmed did say that there was a lot of people at the embassy that day. This whole week we were thinking he was offically approved and they did not call or email either one of us to tell us other wise. He was told at the interview he was approved and left his passport last week. I was told it could be between 4-8 weeks for the review. They did give him a website he can check with his passport number, so we will do that everyday. Just frustrated and I really miss him so much and want him here. :(

well that sucks :( its quite possible that AP is common for Tunisian men but i really do hope that it is a quick process for you and you are soon together.

    good luck :)

  9. To anybody that has experience of the K1 visa... We had our NOA2 on 22nd march, we are planning on getting married on July 21st, this is almost 18 weeks from the approval date, is this long enough? Realistically am I going to be there within the next 18 weeks? I have no idea how long it takes from here!

Please help before we book our venue!

    Thank you!

i would say 3 months at most from NOA2 to interview in London so you should have plenty of time. just be ready to return packet 3 and take your medical as soon as you hear from the embassy.
