  1. Hi,

I'm thinking about using an Attorney for my Adjustment of Status, as my application is way late, and there are a few other possible complications. I have the choice of a few that are at the other end of the country(I'm in Washington state), or getting one that is local. I've heard that a Distant Attorney would be tricky as it would cost too much to fly them to my area. Is it often that you need an attorney to be there in your area? Has anyone suffered as a result of having a distant attorney?

    What do you think?

    Thanks in advance.

  2. Hi,

I've been filling out forms all day for an AOS. My wife works really long hours and there is some info. on the forms that will take a little research to find out(tax return info. for the past 3 years etc) on the I-864.

I'm thinking probably best I send the i-130, i-485, g-1145 and g-325a first and send the i-864 later, as my VWP runs out on the 2nd of March 2013.

    Whaddya think folks?

    Thanks in Advance!

  3. Hi,

I'm from the UK, in the USA on a Visa Waiver.

I'm filling out an i-130 and an i-485 as I've just married my girlfriend. My passport has a stamp that has the date I entered the US, and the date the vwp runs out.

I have an i-94 but it just has the part I filled out. Nothing on it has been written by immigration, or any stamps etc.

Also, my vwp runs out on Sunday the 2nd March. Do I need to get the forms sent ON that date, or do they need to be AT the appropriate office by then?

    Any help would be appreciated!

    Thanks in advance!

  4. Got ya Jay jay! Very sound advice, thank you! :-)

I got an agency job that is very flexible, so I can honestly go on that line. I got enough money to keep me there. From what I know, and the advice given on this page, it seems like I can do this ok!

Thank you so much to everyone for their advice! So great that people can help each other out this way! Thank you! :-)

  5. Yes, this trip is going to be on a visitor visa, there is no fiance visa involved at this stage.

I have good money to cover myself, for the trip. I'm getting a letter from my employer to say I have a job. I stay at my mothers and pay cheap rent.

Thank you very much for the advice so far, very useful :D

  6. Thanks for your reply Bigdog.

I see your point. I don't like to lie. But, I have a seen a few stories of people who have been penalised for being honest.

Depends on what, do you think? :D

    Thanks Jacque,

I will take what you say, into account. Already bought my ticket! lol :D

  7. Hi,

I'm flying out to see my g/f next week, on a Visa Waiver Program for 86 days. I'm in the UK. I've visited the USA a few times in the past few years. The last time being in May 2012, for 2 weeks.

I've been told by a couple of friends, NOT to say that I'm visiting my girlfriend, as immigration can become very difficult about this. Does anyone know, what lengths would immigration normally go to, to see if I was in a relationship or not? Would they check my facebook etc?

    Thanks in advance.

  8. Hi,

I was wondering if I would be able to apply for an 0-1B visa whilst I was in the USA from the UK, on a Visa Waiver? Also does anyone know how long it would take to process a 0-1B visa?

    Thanks!
