  1. I am getting a prompt that says low memory. running windows xp. can someone please tell me how to correct this???

    step by step please!!!

How old is your computer and when was the last time you did a full System Restore?

Any idea how much RAM memory you currently have? START==>CONTROL PANEL==>SYSTEM Look under "Computer:" It will say XXXX of RAM.

Are there any programs that you no longer use that could be removed? START==>CONTROL PANEL==>ADD OR REMOVE PROGRAMS to remove applications

What was the straw that broke the camel's back? Did you add any new applications, photo software, etc?

Have you defragmented your hard drive recently? Exit out of all running programs and those running next to your CLOCK on the lower right of your screen. From your desktop click MY COMPUTER==> right click on your C: hard drive (it may say Local Drive C:) ==>PROPERTIES==>TOOLS==>DEFRAGMENTATION==>highlight your (c:/drive)==>click DEFRAGMENT. Don't use you computer or turn it off until the process is over, could be several hours, best to do before going to bed.

Defragmentation has the same effect as adjusting library book ends to compensate for missing books. It tightens up the blank spaces on your hard drive so that it can more efficiently make use of Virtual Memory, compensation for the lack of larger RAM memory chips installed.

    Please report back.

  2. Does anyone know how to prevent Windows from automatically restarting the computer after it does an update? I hate having to constantly tell it to restart later, only to have it try again in 10 minutes or whatever. Is there a way to turn off the restart attempts completely, so I can restart the computer when I choose and on my terms?

Which version of Windows are you running? DSL/cable or dial up?

If XP or later: START==>CONTROL PANEL==>AUTOMATIC UPDATES. Change the setting from AUTOMATIC to something else.

  3. Some countries allow a citizen to petition an SO so that you can be with the one you love whether you are gay or straight without having to marry. I know Scandinavian countries allow for this since most people there live together as 'samboere' without ever marrying. So I'm wondering why the US doesn't allow for this...

This country isn't worth sneaking into anymore. All the illegal immigrants stole the gold that once paved the streets.

  4. I must have really struck a chord with you.

Three posts dedicated to slander, name calling and insulting my mother. You should learn to behave like a man and not some 45 days chicken shlt behind a keyboard.

When you come to Los Angeles to see the Mouse on your honeymoon, please let me pick you up at the airport. I insist!

Good luck on your 2nd time around Mary and HI to Leeann, her mom and lola. I'll pay for the jeep and we're gonna PARTY

    All the best to you.

  5. Hi,

We received a large painting of Jesus on a piece of wood for our wedding. We got married in Europe and the tree is European. I'm wondering if it'll be a problem to bring it to the US. It's been cut for over a year, but not really 'treated'. For example, paint doesn't cover the whole piece of wood, but rather the artist used the contures of the wood in the painting. I'd rather leave it in Europe than have it confiscated, but when looking at the sample landing card, it seems you only have to mark 'plants' and since it's dead, that doesn't seem to count or 'wildlife products' and that makes me think of something from animals not trees. Maybe I don't even have to declare it. What do you think?

    Thanks,

    Laura

Can you exchange it or get your money back and buy something else? Seems like a problem.

  6. Take it back to the embassy and they will reseal it.

    Seriously? It's that easy?

Some things, not many, are that easy in this crazy immigration process.

But the envelope has 3 words in huge letters on it: DO NOT OPEN. Really, dude opened it anyways?

Yeahhh! Hesus Cristo who can be so dummb. Her know in adbaces about dat. How can U trusts her now? Maybe thay have problem reading 'n have harder time in USa. I think maybe stay home and studys ABC's

  7. I know most interviews only last about 5+ minutes. When the pre-screener & CO look at IRS returns did they carefully examine each page or do they just look at line 22 of your 1040 form. My reason for asking is my tax returns are at least 15 pages long and don't want to unnessarily drag out the interview. Anyone who has been through the interview recently, your input would be appreciated.

My hubby give dem that them his corporations papers and attach to 1040s for 3 years ago bcuz hes makulit. Filipino screener guy listen to my dialect and joke 3x only den tell me I speke good Bisayan n dat he have sisters in cebu.

    I think you ok.

  8. Depends on where you live... in the Atlanta area there are several Asian food markets that are affordable and offer fresh vegetables & quality meat. My wife enjoys when we shop there.

I am very proud to you and your asawa-ko for enjoy to shop in the Atlanta.

That Atlanta must be a great place to live. And for us cost or affordable means nothing. U on budget Charlie?

What is "quality meat?" Maybes I txt your wife again. :P

  9. I am asking, can she force me to goto the greencard interview with her?

    Nope.

More information needed for further advice. In case I missed it, what type of visa did she arrive on? Based on current processing times, how many months before that interview? Anything else you may want to offer, such as any previous marriages or kids begot of either of you, a significant age gap, her country of origin?

You can't stop a freight train by standing in front of it, however it may be possible to derail it before it comes to town.

  10. All she said was she received a nasty PM. I am dying to know what it said but she did not get specific. I don't think stating she received a nasty PM is a violation since the content was not revealed.

She then brought to all of our attention that the person who made the original post appears to be modifying their online identifier. For example he states he is a male but his profile says female.

    Belinda, quoting NM:

Well folks, we have a looney here. At 1154 AM yesterday morning, I received the rudest PM message from "Leader" that I have ever received from anyone in my entire life.

The same person subsequently changed their user name from "Leader" to "Loneman" along with a change in his profile gender from Male to Female at 1159 AM.

We are not supposed to do that. We don't have to like the TOS, but you bet we have to follow them.

Give it a rest and let the moderators police the board.

Someone is trying to cover their tracks and re-invent themselves. The previous posts were suspect to say the least. The OP has not given enough background information to allow anyone to make a fair assessment about the particulars of his situation.

I would not be at all surprised if the fiancee/wife, showed him a bottle of multi-vitamins and said that she was HIV positive in simple defiance, She must have learned of his ulterior motive to skip state, file for AOS and VAWA, and head out for a 2 month trip to PAKISTAN, most likely to visit his REAL girlfriend who he intends to bring to the USA the fastest way he can. His previous posts are evidence of general fishing.

No doubt his level of integrity on this forum is commensurate with his interpersonal dealings with all mankind.

No, it is not OK to willfully withhold material information, including past and ongoing medical conditions from a partner, fiancee, spouse or Immigration.

Negative results from blood work due to pre-marital boom boom 1in the old country may not have shown up at the point of the OP's visa medical exam. That information was not provided. I respect the culture of people of other cultures and am aware and respect of cultural traditions in India and elsewhere, who prohibit pre-marital affairs. The point of asking that question may have eluded to the duration of his assumed exposure and the validity of any test he can take today.

Also, her medications and dosages may possibly determine the status and length of her condition. We do not know when she was diagnosed, or the reason for her having the test to begin with.

HIV is a virus, a common cold is a virus. HIV has the propensity to materialize into AIDS, a common cold can accelerate into utter and complete respiratory failure. The health of individual's immune system becomes that concerning factor.

DaKine: What would I do? Get new tests for both parties at a different clinic using a different lab, wait for the results. If this is the love of my life that we are talking about, then there would be no conscionable decision, other than to stand by that person wholeheartedly without further thought.

Love is blind to fraud and scams. Not everyone learns this the first time around, diba?

    Good day to all sports,

  12. Wait a minute. In reading you previous posts, you seem to be concerned and in a hurry after 4 days in the USA and getting your SS card and getting a job, and figuring out about going home for 2 months, moving to a different state to file AOS, traveling about and etc. Also looking for advice as how the take full advantage of your K1 visa for the sole purpose of gaining immigration benefits for your own selfish motivations. Now you are considering playing the VAWA game and embarrassing yourself and your Petitioner by saying she has HIV. This is very interesting.

The K1 visa is limited and has loopholes and contingencies that require the cooperation of your Petitioner before you get that free ride and dream life here in my country.

Sorry pally that I wasted my time by giving a concerted attempt to help your and your fiancee. All you are doing is fishing for the easy way, which isn't so easy.

Just another fraudster trying to work the system.

  13. hello everyone... my case is very unique... i came here on k1 visa and my fiancee has HIV... i dont know wat to do... i cant do sex with her.... regarding vawa... someone plz help.

How long ago did you come to USA on K1 visa? Did you marry her yet? No boom boom so far? Not even in the old country to "try her out" to see if you were comparable before all this immigration nonsense?

How do you know for sure that she is positive for HIV. Get another test for both of you right away! Get some counseling at the clinic, most likely you can carry on by using condoms, and even so, its rather hard for a man to catch the virus from a woman, provided you have no open skin or sores on your Johnson.

How do you think VAWA can help you. You came here for love and marriage and to be with her forever. Her having a medical condition or disability is no grounds for abuse. You came here because you love her and want to be with her forever, for better or worse. There is more to a relationship than sex, my friend.

Be an MAN and except the situations regarding her unfortunate virus, or be a chicken and go home and try again to find a woman who you can do open non-protected sex with. Where is the love? Or is this all about a stepping stone for living in the USA?

I'll bet she feels very bad about all this too, she did not ask for HIV, it was an accident. It is definitely worth getting come counseling on how to cope with the situation and how to have safe intimate relations. She needs you more than ever and she worked very hard to bring you here.

You are not going to get a green card and a free ride just because you can not accept the medical condition of your Petitioner. It doesn't work that way.

Q: What if you were involved in a serious car accident, would you not expect your K1 Petitioner to love you and stand by you, and sleep in the chair next to your hospital bed and help you wash up and take care of you? Even if the result was that you were unable to have sex, and perhaps live in a wheelchair?

A real man or woman would not disown their partner because of any medical or disabling condition. Only the selfish and the cowards would abandon their loved one, especially when they need their love and support the most.

  14. I married a woman who did not tell me she overstayed 90 days K1 it has been a whirlwind took three years to get a petition for alien relative granted I am also a disabled veteran. Then they denied her Adjustment of Staus. If one stays for ten year they can request to see a judge on the issue before having to leave the United States. She after being denied didn'twant to go the route. The dept of stae sent a letter stating she should leave the country, yet she stayed later through her attorney she left and he did a waiver becuase of more than an extreme hardship on me a US citizen. I got aletter from President Bush's administration and him. Bush was a wonderful man to do that inquiry to the Department of State.

I saw the same signs your seeing. All through this.

I got the waiver as the USCIS Manila denied her VISA to come back in she was subject to a three to ten year bar for overstaying the k1 you would think the USCIS vies that as a crime similiar to murder for all we went through. They were very tough for her staying that time.

Anyrate I got her waiver then she stayed there another month refuseing to come back with me and all along she would not have children. Then she came got her papers after it took me 7 years plus and cleaned out the bank accounts went back to the Philippines. I went there she disappeared into a province and then would not see me I came back to the USa filed for an anulment no children and marriage fraud not telling me she was illegal, then she tried to default me though a lawyer, to get an illegal judgement and not serve me.

She came back to the USa staying with relatives like waht your stating herin. Now she has an attorney they forced her to claim mental abuse, after three months thats not going well for her she is now trying physical abuse.

Apparently I was lucky maybe I was not killed by this woman or her family over their I heard of that happening to a guy.

Then the court is making me pay for her lawyer.

I have notified Manila they state they are forwarding the matter for investigation and action who knows what but the damage is already done I have to pay thousands for lawyer and in debt after buying a hous ethank god zero down and the mar=ket is bad or I would be on the street.

All I have to say is wise up if she don't like you what the heck she says it you better get rid of her fast and have witnesses. SOme of these people I hear are ruthless. Yes thats a good article from the CFR http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/cfr_2007/janqtr/8cfr213a.2.htm

I would like to know what to do now I am in Illinois and find that the political folks think it political suicide to address any illegal aliens becuase of the large mexican population they will get ran out of office.

It seems Manila could do more to help me withdraw my waiver I got for her and to disallow any support.

Especially a third time she went with a guy.

I had no clue she was illegal.

Lawyers just want money too from both of us there is no end to this.

Chinese Philospher say nothing is ever finished!

Yours is not a unique situation, and it seems the that the nice guys get hit the the hardest. Its also very difficult to make rational decisions when one is true to the relationship and are oblivious to the red flags. We were raised not to be quitters, but that things will get better with some persistence. What was lacking in that wisdom is that it takes the cooperation of alt hose involved to make that happen.

VET - it sounds like you are writing this as the sh*t is hitting the fan. I would recommend that you speak to an immigration and family law attorney, either through the VA, legal aid, or one of your own findings. Things happen pretty bloody quick, you need to keep on top of the situation.

Tell us please, when/where did you get married to her, and what kind of visa did you petition her for, when she entered the USA this last time. There may be things you can do.

The situation is this. Local family courts have no jurisdiction in Immigration matters, nor do the County Attorneys, or the local police. Immigration matters are taboo for them. They seem to be of the opinion that Immigrations matters are to be heard at the federal level with DHS/USCIS/ICE.

Her claims of abuse are well known moves by attorneys. They are looking for a way that she can be granted permanent residency, and the one sided claims under VAWA are the hot ticket these days. Its based on her testimony only, without your day in court.

Yes, the lawyers are bottom feeders and are the ones making the money on these cases. At critical points they become a necessary evil. Never attend a hearing over a restraining order/ no contact order by yourself, you will loose every time.

Depending on the stage of your situation, which was very clear to me. There are remedies whereby you can withdraw and disavow your obligation to act as sponsor. or it could be as simple as to retract your I-130 petition. No sponsorship or no petition = no green card. Notwithstanding, her immigration problems are her own and out of your control.

Concern yourself with your own self-preservation, and take small steps to regain yourself. Be pro-active and aware of the games that will be played, the better to prepare yourself for the worst. which will not be as bad as you think.

    Hang in there brother.

Here is the question. Good luck.

Q: On what basis did Arnel Pineda, after admitting to illicit drug usage on You Tube and elsewhere, gain permanent residency in the USA?

  16. I met three Pinays here whom are all married to white guys. The problem is we don't get to meet often because we're all busy with work. Bummer! I settled to make friends with the Mexicans at work. They are sorta like Pinoys in some ways.

We? White guys busy with work in the USA? That speaks volumes in favor of our industrious society. What else besides the Yo-YO, flooding and poverty can your 7100 islands account for besides earning your rank as the #2 high fraud country for immigration to USA?

  17. Many American Men who visit the Philippines, Have plans to go back and live in Philippines
