I cant believe you guys are paranoid of USCIS that you find it necessary to lie. do you realize what will happen if you are caught lying to the USCIS? yeah it wont be good...... Just ask for the stamp, dont make up stories, and you should be fine. DO NOT LIE to the uscis ever.. it will always come back to bite you later on...

If you are doing a I-130 for your spouse, i assume you are married, you will not need to translate these documents for the NVC stage, only for the USCIS. once complete at NVC they will forward your documents to Bogota for completion at the embassy and they accept spanish documents. the comment by the previous post about adjustment of status would not apply if you are doing a Cr1 type visa. hence you would be ok. hope this hels.
    Cheers

    Really? Most excellent accolade, thanks.
    I concur.
    It is.
Well said. There is a thread on here about USCs way of thinking of "sending them back home".
I just get saddened that after going through all the trials and tribulations of the process, that folks give up seemingly so easily. But I'm a troll so what do I know.

just seems a bit harsh, and like your trying to get out of your obligations possibly if you are the sponser for him. because even if he stayed in the usa you would be on the hook and if he goes home then you wont ? well until his green card expires your still on the hook, even if he comes back without you knowing it. something to think about...

Well July 29 is coming around early. She has no right to stay in your house because you're not married (if you were married you couldn't just kick her out). There is no legal responsibility to her, just moral.
If I were you I would call the police to have her removed. While in the presence of police I would give her the tickets, advise her of the date, pay for a hotel/motel while waiting for the flight and then if she doesn't catch it, you have proof you tried to do the right thing.
I'm sorry it didn't work out.

kmarion1968 got a reaction from Edwin87 in information and mis information
So i had a conversation yesterday with my better half. and she informs me that the lady who does the translations for the notario office said it would be 989,000 pesos to translate and apostillo the marriage certificate, her birth certificate, and her sons birth certificate. im feeling a little like she is getting some bad info, so i post some and read and find out that the US doesnt require these to be apostilled. i relay this to her and she tells me that it doesnt matter what the usa requires because the embassy will require it. am i missing something? maybe she is just confused, then i explain to her that the process which i laid out for her step by step is we submit the I-130 with a G325a for you and i, along with the marriage certificate translated and supporting docs, then i need to submit a I-130 for our son along with his birth certificate translated along with another copy of our marriage certificate translated. but non of these are required to be apostilled.
she replies that in order to use the Birth certificate and it to be legal it has to be apostilled other wise it wont be valid in the USA.
can anyone give me some advice on what i am missing here? am i wrong in my line of thought? i dont think i am but would like to know for sure before i get upset over haveing to pay out 600.00 us dollars to have something done that isnt needed.
additionally one other question. does anyone think that 1mil pesos rent a month is alot? thats what i am sending her for the rent on her family home while she is studying to be a nurse. so in total i am paying about 1.4 mil pesos for rent and expenses is this the average or ???
any help would be appreciated as always.
    cheers.
