A marriage certificate to proof that you and your husband are legally married and her birth certificate to show that your husband as her real dad?
-
does it have to be showing sent from the country he is in ?? or can i do it from his email if he asks me to ????
As long as his email address matches with the beneficiary's email address from NVC, then it is good!
-
When we filed for I-130 last time, we front loaded with some wedding pics, invitation card, wedding rings receipt, a couple of "new marriage" card from people and other docs that can show the marriage is not for immigration purpose!
For the interview steps, you want to show docs that can proof on-going relationship like phone records, Skype logs, mails, etc.
-
No signature is needed If the DS-3032 is sent out by email. As long as the email is sent out from beneficiary email address. His email address must be the same one with the NVC record!

How long is between your ex-wife received her 10 years LPR and the divorce? If this is so short, you might want to hang on there and wait for a while!
If you decided to get married in Columbia, you'll have to file for an immigrant visa - CR1. The K3 visa is kind of eventually dead now!
-
I think it is up to the officer to determine the bona-fide of the marriage! The most important is you are approved! Congrats!
-
When we were at the PoE, we were asked by the ICE officer to confirm our address again in order to receive the green card! You can request for address change at that time too!
-
I don't get it! If the interview went fine, why would they want to send the petition back to NVC? Can you print out a copy of the red paper and get your congressman to contact the embassy ASAP to find out why?

What state of residence is your wife? Contact her state driver licensing about the ways to renew it!

Hay kamhoe
We got got two I-797C NOA's...the first was the receipt notice showing they had received the package from the POE, the second was the welcome notice.
As to the SS number, we just filed a new application just like anyone can do at any time ... no muss, no fuss
Just received both notice letters today! At least we know USCIS is working on that!

Potentially with the Guangzhou US consulate since I don't reside in Malaysia. I just noticed that my original birth certificate is in Malay. Do you know where I can officially translate it back in Malaysia?
There's a possibility that the Guangzhou Consulate requests for more supporting documents to prevent frauds, which brings me to my next question - Are there any of you out there (beneficiaries of other nationalities besides Chinese citizens) who interviewed at the Guangzhou consular office and submitted the "unmarried certificate?"
You can contact the Consulate of Malaysia in Guangzhou. The consulate usually provides translation services; make sure you want the translation into English and not Chinese.

Hope this helps!

Which consular are you planning for interview? I never heard that U.S. embassy in Kuala Lumpur requires any unmarried certificate except the divorce decree.
If your have the original birth certificate in English & Malay, then you do not need any official translation.

It seems like far too many people fret over what happens after POE, somehow thinking that if things don't happen immediately, there is a problem--just for the record, it is rare to have problems, but the odds are not zero. Far too many people want to know what the "average time is to get the green card and SS#, so let me say there are no averages, and plenty of myths promulgated right here at VJ.
So, let me tell you our experience--it is neither normal nor abnormal--it is what it is.
POE at Newark airport November 3. The entire process from the time Emma got off the plane until she was with me in the waiting area was about 40 minutes.
We go to SS office to get card November 23. There is NO REASON to wait three weeks like so many folks here suggest. We would have done it sooner, but needed an originan copy of our marriage license, so had to wait for it in the mail.
SS card arrived November 28.
USCIS got the package from Newark Novemebr 28.
USCIS "officially" recognized Emma's CR-1 status December 6.
Green card arrived December 27.
And we are finished for now--hope this helps allay so many fears that I ahve read here over the last couple of years.
How do you know/check that the USCIS got your package from Newark on Nov 28th and "officially" recognized Emma's CR-1 status?
Our PoE was on Dec 4th and we went to the SSA office on Dec 26th and was told that no SSN record in the system and we have to submit a new application.

Petitioner's birth certificate is not required for the IV packet but I would bring it to the interview just in case!
-
Our marriage certificate has Malay and English too! We never had any problem to go through USCIS, NVC & embassy.
-
Probably the adjudicators are too busy to prepare for the Christmas!
-
Ask your embassy about how to get a replacement for a birth certificate.
-
Everything should be the original or certified copy except the passport biographic page.
-
What kind of visa are you applying? I assume NVC requests original docs in mail.
-
Wow! Just received both my welcome notice and Social Security card in the mail - just 8 days after POE. I wasn't expecting anything that quickly - I guess I'll have to start looking for a job now! lol
Wow, that was smooth and easy! Wish the same too!

My experience is with K1, possibly the Cr1 is different and you started the Aos abroad? If thats the case then I apoligize for any misgivings. I had to marry first within 90 days then start my Aos.
AOS is only applied to the foreigner that has entered United States on a non-immigrant visa or K-1 visa and adjusts to a new immigrant status through USCIS. CR1/IR1 is granted for an immigrant visa from U.S. embassy/consular and will be granted for green card when enter United States.

3 weeks and we never got SS card, just go to the local ss office, that is what many people have to do
This is the reason I ask for! I hate to go to the SSA office as it always crowded and long wait!
-
I'm sorry but I think you still haven't quite understood the question. Kamhoe is talking about receiving the Green Card after you enter on an immigrant visa such as a spouse visa. At that point the application is complete and approved so there will be no mistakes or RFEs - they just need to produce and mail out the card. I did my POE last Sunday at Atlanta and they told me three to six weeks.
Oh, welcome to USA! You entered the country on the same day as my wife.
I am not too worry about the green card processing, I am concerning about if the USCIS will remember to inform the SSA office as I had selected to apply for SSN on her immigrant visa form.
-
Depends on how fast you apply for AOS, it could take 3 months to 6 months if you have no RFe's or interview after Biometrics. Good luck getting a SSI card, even though she is eligble most offices dont know the law and I stopped trying after about the 5th time, irrelevant to have one it doesn't make you legal to work. I was able to get my now wife on my health insurance with out one and waited till after the greencard to get it. When you do the Aos,apply for the temporary work visa(EAD) that will come before greecard and is free if file at the same time.
I am not asking about the process of applying green card and the time to wait for the interview. I am asking about the time to wait for the green card in mail after someone has entered the United States on an immigrant visa.

A foreigner that claimed to be a U.S. citizen will have a big problem to go through USCIS. The officer wants your record of the I-9 forms to prove that if you ever claimed yourself as a U.S. citizen. You really need to get help from experienced attorney.
