You can try to get the "shore visa" when you are passing through the passport process in Japan later. I have tried a few times last time!
-
A non-American claimed him/herself as a U.S. citizen is a dead end in immigration process!
-
No worry! You are in legal status once you filed for AOS! If you need to work, you can apply for a new EAD.
-
Nice! Congratulations!

Well, I always double check those forms before I seal off the envelope to prevent this kind of delay. Why your attorney never miss to collect that $2000 from you?

hi kamhoe,
did you need to get a fingerprint card? If you did, may I know where you got it done? I understand the certificate of good conduct from KLN can take a while, which is why I think I'd be applying for it soon since our wedding is mid of this year and we'd like to start applying soon after that. How long is the cert valid for, do you know?
Thanks for your help
Fingerprint card for good conduct letter? No at all, just send the required docs that you can find on the form. My wife only asked for fingerprint in the embassy during the interview.
Her good conduct letter didn't show any expiration date but it did show the issue date. I guess it is up to the embassy in Kuala Lumpur to justify how long they would accept it.

Thanks for the heads up! I'm going to need one from Australia too, so probably will start doing both soon. Not lookg forward to paying the fees since we are getting married soon and that in itself, is quite costly!
Is your spouse military as well, kamhoe?
No, we were just on the regular route but we know the process for U.S. embassy in Kuala Lumpur pretty well. Feel free to drop me a question if you do.
-
Yes, you need to bring his original/certified copy (not a regular copy) of divorce decree to the interview or your case could be delayed. Also, the certificate of good conduct from KLN takes about 1 to 2 months to process. So, please plan ahead if you will be granted for the I-130 expedition.

Hello,
I do hold the US and EU citizenship's. Planning to travel to China and I do need visa. However, I am not sure which passport to use. If I use the US passport, then I will need to pay $140 for visa, but if I use the EU passport, then I will only need to pay $15 for that visa, but I am not sure if the law allows that. I know that I must use the US passport leaving the states, but can I show the EU passport with a visa on it?
You do not need US passport to leave the states but you do need US passport to enter the states!

Why you both want to take the risk to waste money and time?
-
Your consulate won't approve your K-1 visa if you both get married!
-
I never heard that beneficiary will get 10 years immigrant visa. If you are doing AOS, then she shouldn't leave the United States until she filed for I-485 and applied for Advance Parole for traveling. If she left before the AOS, then she will not be able to re-enter United States and she wiil have to apply for a immigrant visa in a consulate.

I really don't know if USCIS will send you a RFE regarding the consulate or they will just assume it is going to Malaysia and forward it to NVC. Anyway, I don't believe they will deny your application just because a minor mistake in your form. Good luck!

I checked my I130, there is no place to write about consulate as far as I can see.
Current address is from Malaysia, and Citizenship/birth is Bangladesh. Same in 325A
Take a look again at you I-130, Section C, Question 22
-
Congratulations! So, have you submitted a new medical report?

Hi there,
I filed I-130 for my wife. She lives in Malaysia (on a 2nd home visa there). She is originally from Bangladesh (born and has passport from).
On our I-130, her current address is in Malaysia. I was wondering when USCIS (Cal Service Center)processes her papers and send it to consulate, which country will they send it to? Bangladesh or Malaysia ?
The reason for this question is to plan where she has to be to face the embassy for her visa.
Just for information:
I-130 filed: September 2011 for F2A as I am still an LPR
My naturalization is supposed to be done by April/May (hopefully) - currently waiting for Interview .. then I will update F2A to IR1/CR1
It depends on which consulate you wrote on the I-130? Don't you remember?

Life/accidental insurance that shows you as the primary beneficiary. Also, his retirement plans that can show you as the beneficiary!

The chance to have another interview during AOS isn't high because you had an interview during your K-1 visa. As I can say, if you have a joint ROC, the chance to have another interview is low too!
BTW, if you have any joint credit card or loan account, you can send a copy too! But other than that, your evidences are strong!
Good luck!

Have you refer to K-1 guide here to see what forms and docs are needed?
-
Have you followed the K-1 guide here? The guide should explain the steps very well. Usually it takes a few weeks for NVC to receive and entered into the system but you can always call and check the status with your USCIS receipt number.
-
I won't put any government docs in my wallet except my state driving license. Have you filed a police report before your biometrics appointment?
-
Check my timeline! It took a while for NVC to receive our case and assigned a KLL case number. But once you have it, everything will go pretty smooth!
-
I don't think NVC will send any hard copy if both petitioner and beneficiary's emails are on file.
-
Give a call to NVC and see! Is your co-sponsor a U.S. citizen or LPR?
Going for a vacation in japan. Help me please!!!

As I said before, you definitely can ask for a "shore pass" to enter the Japan for temporary at the passport section. Since you are a LPR and you will have better chances to get the pass.
