You are an IR1/CR1 case. Everyone carrying a stack of documents with them to the interview are K1 cases. You have already done everything in advance! They have everything necessary. Your husband should bring his passport and perhaps the 2X2 fotos (if you did not send them with the IV application).
Our interview date is 17 January and on the NVC interview letter (last page) it states that everything has been recieved and all payments made. Therefore, my wife needs only to show up with her interview letter and her passport.
We are at the same stage, so there is some uncertainty, but from everything I've read....K1 filers have to carry all those documents to the interview. IR1/CR1 filers do not if they already sent the documents to NVC before hand.
You will find this information in the embassy reviews provided here at VJ.
Good Luck,
Magnus

Well,
There are so many things my pareja has never done...or a least we have not done them together. When she is here, first I'd like to introduce her to my city, D.C.(ie. - seeing the monuments, restaurants, walking the neighborhoods here in Washington). I'd like to show her how to use the public transportation here (she does not drive yet) and inable her to survive on her own a bit since I must work 8 hours a day.
Then...I'd like us to visit NY and my farm in Virginia. Then...ride a roller-coaster!
She has never been in snow! This will be fun!!
These are only a few things of many that I plan...or we may plan to do.

Yes, there is a problem...the embassy will be closed. You need to reschedule!

My wife had her medical exam today with Dra. Viviana. Of course the exam itself was 300 soles. The Dra. recommended her to get four vaccinations that cost 280 soles. In total, every thing cost 580 soles/ 216 dollars. (2.68 soles/ 1 dollar). She obtained the 4 vaccines that were recommended to you. She must return in two weeks to get her results.
Thanks so much for the info. My wife was worried they would inject her too many times with the needle!

Dear Cholito,
Sorry...don't have skype yet! I will read every thing you have described. I recieved packet 4 that said all documents and payments were recieved by NVC and they (docs) were forwarded to the embassy. I sent the "complete" package with originals and I've already paid the fees. I think that's it.
Thanks a lot,
Magnus

Honestly, I can't speak for the RD; however, after our case completed at NVC, about 10 days later recieved our letter (via e-mail) with our interview date at embassy in Peru.
Hope this helps.

Estimado Cholito,
Again...CONGRATS!!!
And yes...we would like to know what questions were asked? All of our original paper work was sent to NVC (complete) and forwarded to the embassy. I told my wife she only needs to take her passport and embassy letter. Am I wrong in this? We are IR1/CR1 como tu.....so we are not required to submit the proofs of a relationship other than the documents supplied to the NVC?
Any ingo would be helpful! Wifey goes for medical exam friday. Embassy interview is a little more then a month off.
Thanks and felicitaciones....
Sincerely,
Magnus

Dear Cholito,
Good luck with your interview. I have no info to offer since you are more advanced in the process than we are. However; if you search here at VJ...and read the embassy reviews for IR/CR-1 visas of Peru...then I think you should feel comfortable, no te preoccupas....!
Buena suerte a ti,
Sincerely,
Magnus

You should have check "status as Permanent resident" on both g325s. Don't know anything about resubmitting.

Hi, I'm an American, Virginian to be exact. However; I am in process of bringing my Peruvian wife here. She is in Lima but is originally from Iquitos. I consider myself part of the Peruvian community here because of my ties to that wonderful land! Mucho Gusto!
Sincerely,
Magnus

Well, you may have to use a translator here in EEUU. We had all our documents translated in Lima. It was very economical and perfect. Very cheap!!!! You will need a translation but I don't know about prices here.
Buena suerte!!!

You will apply for an IR1/CR1 visa or a K1??? I will tell you about IR1/CR1..... Have your birth certificate, Marriage certificate and if your name changes due to marriage, then your new DNI. This is what we did for the CR1 visa. This is necessary because USCIS needs these documents translated; however, NVC does not require it as long as (in the case of Peru) the original documents are in Castellano. Note that it is a step by step process and USCIS requires a translation into english. I hope this helps.
Sincerely,
Magnus

Thanks for the info; however, we are using Dra. Viviana. This info is much appreciated!

You may have seen Briancole's article, "Big Problems at the Airport". I'm sure you've already read this on page 3 of this portal.

Which doctor are you going too? Dra. Viviana o el otro doctor? My wife is going 15 December to Dra. Viviana. Sorry I can't offer any advice now because you are advancing before us.
Sincerely,
Magnus

First of all, you will file the online form DS-260 because that is what the NVC uses for Peru filers. The form is signed electronically, when you fill out the form. The petitioner may sign for the beneficiary, or simply put the benficiary's name in the box. Refer to this page, http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3190.html.
I hope I have been of some help.
Buena suerte,
Magnus

Remember that along with the original documents, you must also provide a PHOTO COPY OF EACH ORIGINAL DOCUMENT YOU SEND. This information is on state department page, http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3195.html.
Good luck!

Well, it turns out I was worrying for naught.....NVC COMPLETED MY CASE IN EXACTLY 17 BUSINESS DAYS. Whew!
-
Hi fellow VJers,
I sent the supporting civil documents (originals & copies) for our ds-260 on 22 Oct. via US postal service. USPS says they should be delivered on 26 OCT. However; when I try using the USPS track & confirm...it only says my package was recieved at the post office I sent it from. No more info!! It is now 12 Nov. I called NVC and they said 20 days before they would know anything.
I am worried because the original documents for all intent and purposes are in limbo. USPS sucks. I just wanted confirmation that the package was delivered.
Has anyone had similar experiences with USPS and NVC? Did it turn out good? Tell me I'm worrying prematurely!
Thanks!

Sorry for your problems,
I understand totally!! Since I've been married to my Peruvian wife...I have put running water in my Mother-in-Law's house, I have brought a moped for her and her mom. On top of this, I send her $200 every week as her pension until her immigration papers are finished. A friend told me that when you marry a Peruvian...you are also marrying her family. Know what? I'm American and I don't think so! I love my wife and her family. I will help them when I can...but if I can, and certainly not on a regular basis. In these tough economic times....I only wish to care for my wife and myself.
I told her if she wants to support her family...on a regular basis, then she needs to earn the income to do so. I also reminded her that I am part of her family too!
Money problems are common in every marriage. Also, I think in many countries less affluent than the USA....people think all Americans are loaded with money! I wish but it is not the case.
Be well and best of luck.

Hi,
for that question, I only put my wife's name. She is the beneficiary. Our i-130 was approved on 12 July 2011. I was confused a little by the instructions as well.

I think you should carry only your VALID, CURRENT passport. An expired or voided passport serves no purpose. My wife turned in her old passport and obtained a new one in her legal married name. I highly recommend using your current, valid, new passport...and forget about the old one.
Good Luck,
Magnus
