  1. well today is one week 7 days and still nuthing and yes my fiance is registered on the site to track the visa I hope she will have soon..We really do not want to wait another week..thanks

    Dear Swanman,

Did she go to the link that directs to DHL.com??? At the us-visa site she should have gotten the WAYBILL NUMBER. Then, she can check the DHL site. It will not say it is ready to be picked up ...it will say this, "3 Departed Facility in LIMA - PERU LIMA - PERU 14:57 " or similar.

When it says this...she should go to the DHL that was chosen to pick it up. This was our experience.

    Sincerely,

    Magnus.

  2. Thanks again, Magnus! I think I might pay for it to be sent anyway. My concern is with the background check which I believe they run from what's listed on that form. If I don't list his full name maybe there will be a problem later. I also don't feel comfortable relying on a phone call to UCSIS because I already called them before for help and the only information they told me was the same information available on their instruction form and my questions were beyond that. That's why I posted here! :)

I do have another question about the form if you don't mind sharing your wisdom again! My husband is completing it on his computer and the spaces are too small for some of the text. For example, they only provide one line for your full address so he used the line below it also which is meant for a second address. Is that okay? Or should he just handwrite the whole thing?

    THANKS AGAIN!

If he runs out of space on the form or if extra space is needed to complete any item...."attach a continuation sheet, indicate the item number, and date and sign each sheet."

I do not think the second address line should be used for the first.

Those are the intructions from USCIS.

I hope this helps. It is only from what I read from instructions at USCIS. We did not encounter this problem in our applications/ petitions.

    Sincerely,

    Magnus

  3. I've sent a gift to my wife in Peru...a brand new camera I got for a good deal on Amazon.com. It arrived at my house in USA, then I went to the post office (USPS) to send it. To send cost approx. $30 plus insurance. However; when she went to pick it up at the local Correo...my wife had to pay taxes on the cost (what I paid Amazon!) on it. It was another $20 bucks. I had to send her a bill of sale from Amazon before they would give it to her.

It is cheaper to send flowers and chocolates!

    Sincerely,

    Magnus

  4. Thank you both so much! I will spend the money then for him to resend the G-325 including both last names for his family name. :(

You do not have to re-send the G-325 again. You don't have to pay additional money! You simple can call USCIS if they are processing the documents...or you can wait until the NVC stage and begin using both last names of your husband on the forms.

The name you use on the NVC forms will be the name on the visa issued and it must match the name on the passport of the intending immigrant.

    Good Luck! Buena suerte!

    Magnus

  5. Personally, for us:

    $420 for I130

    $88 for aos

    $404 for ds-260 IV app.

$50 for documents and translations. (estimant)

    $20 for photos

    $210 for medical exam/ vaccinations

$60 for mailing documents to USCIS, NVC, Peru to USA. (estimant)

    approximate Total: $1252

Hope this gives you an Idea.

P.S. - My wife also obtained a new passport with her married name. Forget the cost...disculpe.

    Sincerely,

    Magnus

  6. We had just a simple civil ceremony...but it was beautiful! My wife's parents were there from Loreto. There was a photographer, the mayor of Brena, and friends of the family.

We have many photos and videos of our ceremony. My wife has her hand made, one of a kind wedding dress.

We decided on this because my parents are with God, my family could not visit due to the busy lives and we wanted to marry.

In the future, if we decide to...we may do a catholic wedding. But everythings going so good...I do not know what will happen.

We are married in the law and in the eyes of God I think! (L)

  7. That's not asked on the I-130, it's asked on the DS-230.

OP: The experience of others tells me that it can be hit or miss on whether or not your wife will receive her SSN in the mail or if it will be necessary to go to a Social Security office and take care of it that way. My wife received her SSN in the mail about 1.5 after she arrived but only received her green card two weeks ago.

Thanks for the correction and the information.

    Magnus

  8. You need to put his full name, that includes both last names, especially since his relevant documents state them.

At i130 stage, your husbands birth certificate is not required...but you should have it on hand anyway (it is requested at NVC stage). Marriage certificate is required with translation to english.

Your birth certificate (USC) can be a photo copy.

I included on a single cover sheet stating the documents inclosed. Only give USCIS what they ask for. A cover letter is not listed in the instructions for I130; but I included one any way. It is not mentioned in instructions for I130.

You are already explaining the relationship by sending in form I130.

    Keep it simple.

    Good luck!

    Magnus

  9. Whatever name the visa is issued in should be on the passport. She should get the a new passport to reflect her married name if you filed the forms using the married name. If you wish to use the maiden name, you can do so at the NVC stage. However; I highly recommend obtaining passport in the married name if you filed papers with married name.

This will save time when she enters USA because all papers will show married name.

The name on the visa must match the name on the passport.

    Sincerely,

    Magnus

  10. You should email the embassy right away. They are very quick to respond to problems with issued visas.

In my case, my wife obtained visa/passport from DHL. She then showed me the actual visa...then I noticed they had added an extra digit to her passport number on the visa page!

We contacted embassy at immigrant visa unit via email. They immediately apologized for the error and asked us to bring back the passport and packet. They would correct it in a day or two and we could pick up at embassy! No mas DHL!

So...email the embassy now. You're a K1 case (nonimmigrant visa section). The embassy NIVisa unit email is limaniv@state.gov .

Good luck and don't open anything again. ;) I hope you'll not have to pay anything more. Time wasted is enough penalty.

    Sincerely,

    Magnus[/size]

  11. Hi everyone,

Well, my wife has her visa. I was reviewing it, and in the annotation section...there are two stars (**). Does anyone know what this signifies? We are so happy to have the visa, but I am curious about everything about it.

If you know what "**" means in the annotation section of the visa...it would be greatly appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Magnus

  12. Wow..This is good information to know to verify the Lima office does it correctly. Could you imagine the problems you would have if you didn'y see it and tried to do the POE?

Yeah!!! Glad we caught it in time. They added an extra 4 to the passport number. Her passport has 7 numbers....not 8!!!

Please inspect your visas/passports....to err is human!!!! :o

    Magnus

    congrats on the visa!!!!

    Thanks!!! We are almost there!!!!

  13. Dear members,

The wife recently recieved her visa. Stamped in her passport. However; upon closer inspection...the embassy in Lima, Peru added an extra number to her passport number on her visa page (in passport)!

What a headache! Well, we contacted the embassy, via email. We had a response within 15 minutes. They said bring it to the window (#14) and they will take care of it. They also apologized for their error. I responded to their email if we would be able to walk out the embassy with the corrected visa in hand...or would we have to wait for DHL.

I am still waiting for reply.

Patience and a good temper are necessary in many things. It is definitely so in IV cases.

    Sincerely,

    Magnus

  14. Veronicaanalee,

If you are capable of translating it yourself, you can do so as long as you cartify that it is an accurate translation and you sign and state you are capable of translations from castellano.spanish into english.

We had an official translator in Peru to translate all my wife's spanish documents.

As for your driving test, I'm not sure about Nevada...but I think you will at least need a Learner's permit in hand.

For social security...visit this website: http://www.ssa.gov/ssnvisa/.

    Best of luck,

    Magnus
