  1. I realize now that I forget to post here. I had been avoiding most posting on VJ as it was depressing the hell out of me. On November 3rd Tolga and I got the text and email that our petition was APPROVED!!! It was nuts, I nearly stopped breathing. And it's true, getting that approval changes everything and your demeanor goes from depressed to hopeful again.

So Kat...don't fret girl. You're going to be approved any minute. I'm sure of it. And sometimes that online system doesn't notify you. So, don't lose hope. You are lucky that you get to see your love. And the US and Canada share a friendly border. I only wish Turkey was closer. And you would NOT believe the security between here and there. Makes you feel nervous.

Anyway....May folks still waiting. STAY HOPEFUL! Sucks seeing folks be approved before you that applied 3 months ago. You wanna give a big ole SCREW THEM! But honestly...many folks approved before you may wait MONTHS and MONTHS after you.

I love my May family. And HOT DAMN I'm feeling better. Only 171 days of waiting. They sure like to give a gal a heartattack! lol

Thanks Sabrina! I'm keeping the faith that we'll get our approval soon, focusing on living in the present moment, and enjoying the time I am able to spend with him. I do feel blessed, and thankful to have my May family for support and love!

  2. So my fiance called USCIS again, this time to see if our case had been assigned to a supervisor yet. He said the CSR guy he spoke with was really nice but he wouldn't put my fiance through to a Tier 2 Immigration officer. At first the CSR guy said that we should have received our approval by now, and he would go ahead and put in a service request. (Yippee!!) Then he did his bit on the computer at his end, and finally said, "Oh, looks like you are still in the normal processing time, I can't put in a service request..." blah blah blah. He said the immigration officer wouldn't be able to tell him if our case has been assigned to a case officer yet because cases are only adjudicated when they are approved or need additional information. Our case hasn't been approved yet because it hasn't been adjudicated yet. *sigh*

I kind of don't feel anything anymore, just numb about this whole sucky process. My fiance is going to call again on our 6-month mark, Nov 18... see if they say anything different.

  3. update... April - 5

    march - 2

    feb - 5

lol..noticed that they are processing April 6 now... oooooohhhh I can taste the NOA2 getting close......

Hey Terri, I'm sorry for your losses. That's a lot to deal with on top of this process.

Just curious where you found the April 6 processing date? I just checked the USCIS website and it still says March 15. We're still waiting for our approval (NOA1 May 18)... :(

  4. Called USCIS helpline on friday, 10/28. Was hoping to get a hold of human being instead of the (insert obscenity) automated system they've implemented for customer service. By weird luck, got a hold of a rep. Sequence is 1-1-2. The rep kindly informed me that VSC is swamped with I-129F applicants and are going through MARCH applicants presently. Which makes sense looking at majority of NOA2 updates in immigration timelines. She concluded by saying "please call back in 2-3 months." So, if you're lucky like me, the average wait time for NoA2 for VSC is 8 months plus. I call on the lucky average NoA2 expectant to kindly follow up with your frustrated comment...

That's what my fiance was told when he called USCIS to put in a service request one day after our 5 month mark, on Oct. 19. Yay, more waiting. :crying:

  5. On the website to see how long VSC is taking to approve I-129Fs I saw this "Field Office Processing Dates for Vermont Service Center as of: August 31, 2011" and also this "The charts are updated on or about the 15th day of each month." Well it seems to have been 2 months since the chart has last been updated. Is this correct or am I missing something? Is VSC particularly swamped with work right now? Are they struggling to get petitions approved on time right now?

The USCIS website was updated recently because the average processing time for VSC *was* 5 months and it is now March 15, 2011. The changed the site recently but neglected to update the "As of August 31, 2011" date at the top of the chart. All very confusing.

  6. My fiance and I have the same NOA1 date as you, and we are still waiting for our NOA2. When my fiance called USCIS last week, he was told that we can't put in a service request, that we are still in normal processing time because they're currently processing March 15 petitions. ??? So we're still waiting. You are not alone! :)

  7. I had the exact same call with the USCIS yesterday. I wanted to put in service request (I am at 5 months +) and was told they have moved the processing date back to March 15, they are taking closer to 7 rather than 5 months, and that there is nothing they can do because they are within normal processing times...

I guess there is a bit of comfort knowing that so many of us are still waiting after 5 months at VSC. Sometimes, looking at the approvals from June and July on Visa Journey can drive me mad.

I hear you, jumperoo. Although it sucks so many of us May Filers are still waiting (especially when June and July+ Filers are being approved), I too feel a little better knowing that I'm not alone in this. Good luck to us all... I hope we all get our approvals soon.

  8. Hang In there Team Katman! I know its hard for you both at this time! Especially when so many around you getting Approved. But I bet you, When You get that NOA2 You will certainly be too over joyed and we will celebrate that great moment! We With you, You know that Fellow May Filer.....we with You!.....Good Luck!

Thanks for your kind words, Thom... it's good to have you back on VJ :)

  9. My fiance called to put in a service request (our NOA1 date is May 18). He spoke with a Tier 2 Immigration Officer. He was told to call back in 2 months because they are currently working on March 15 petitions so they are within normal processing times. He told the IO that he knew cases from June and July were being adjudicated. She replied that every case is different, and that they are within their normal processing times so there is nothing she can do. What a load of #######! I'm so mad right now I could cry. Thanks for listening to me rant. :(

  10. Ironically I can say the same about our NOA2. I received the email today. It was funny I was just nonchalantly checking my gmail account when I saw the email from USCIS I was like ####### O_o must be another password change. Then I read the subject and it said case status regarding account yada yada....I was like oh no...please no RFE PLEASE GOD. then I opened it and it said post decision. I WAS LIKE WOOOOOPIEEEEE MY BABY IS ON HER WAY!!!!! Almost started break dancing waiting in line to pay for the babies bag lol. Thanks guys for all your support. Team Katman this is for you dont give up. yours is on the way ;-). Stay blessed everybody. Im bout to call my mom ^_^

    Yozhik

Congrats!!!! I'm so happy for you both! And thanks! :)
