  1. I hired L. Tod Schlosser, to help with out K-1 process in May 2011, however he has really done nothing and takes forever to answer me back, I recently found out that he was disbarred in Aug 2011, and he was suppose to inform all of his clients in writing of this fact. He never informed of this. And he only ever answer a few of our questions, I have done all the work in filling out all the forms and spending countless hour scouring the web for any and all information. What tipped me off that something was not right was the other day i emailed Tod and told him that we still had not received packet 4 even though my Fiance has his interview on April 19th 2012, What Tod told me was "Well you don't really need the interview letter as it's only purpose is to let the security guards at the Embassy know that you have business at the Embassy on that date and to let him in the Embassy". Ummmm are you serious?? I told him that is not true as my fiance was told that he could not get his PPC or set up an appointment for his medical exam unless he had a copy of the interview letter. So my suspicion were aroused. I went online ans started searching Tod's name and found all kinds of complaints and I found out he was disbarred by the EOIR and DHS.When I confronted him he said he did nothing wrong and he doesn't need the permission of Illinois to do what he does as he is completely qualified to do this. I asked for a refund as he has done no work and he never gets back to me, he refused saying without him we would not have an interview date.

So my questions is has anyone else had any problems with L. Tod Schlosser? And does anyone have any advise as to what I can do to get my $2500.00 back?

  2. How incredibly frustrating!! Par for the course, I guess..

Tried my cc, then the boys, then mine again, finally got through with PayPal and then it wouldn't accept the Invoice #!! But now things seem fine? Scheduled for April 25th - hoping I actually paid! and very excited to not check that darn website anymore!

Gooooood luck to everyone else! Just keep trying and hopefully the site is just being very slow. Fingers crossed!!

back in October I don't think any of us were able to pay on the website. We paid the cash at the appointment and that was fine. Congratulations everyone!

  3. Part 1 (3) - Class of Admission - what do i put? "K1"

    Par 2- "D"

Part 3- "Undetermined" or " No yet known"

    Part 7- Multiple trips

that is what I put too. And you do NOT need to attach a paper explaining any trips. I was tempted to do that, but followed advice of others before me and did not attach a paper. It is not necessary with the K1 visa.

    :D

  4. Green Giant,I just called to try and book over the phone. The operator that I spoke with confirmed that there is nothing open. I asked him if he knew when the next slots of appointments would be open and he could tell me nothing. I asked if there was a specific time during the month that they release the next rounds of appointments...again nada! Sorry my VJ friend but I tried. I will keep psycho dialing them every day if I have to until something comes up...

I tried the psycho dialing last fall LOL and after the first couple of times it just went to a hold thing. They have their ways  and all the operators would ever say was "I see what you see" in other words they had no inside track or information at all. We went the same exact frustration that you guys are going through and here we are now with our greencards, so don't worry, when it is over it will feel so great!!! IT is definitely a ridiculous way to have to book an appointment but .. they hold all the cards. We nicknamed the appointment site the "disappointment site". LOL Start gathering your information for booking a hotel and your medical... it will all happen fast after you get your appointment!

Hope this adds some kind of comfort.

  5. I just clicked on this morning and still no appointments available. I will keep you all posted if anything comes up.

When they opened up in October, it was about 11:30 in the morning. Not trying to give false hope, but they DO have to open sometime!!

  6. I'm right there with you Moe. It would also be nice if we could get our medical done before the appointment is actually booked. At least it would be something we could do to move in the right direction.

I really don't understand why, when every embassy is run by the US government and staffed by US people, are the rules and procedures so different for each embassy? It makes me nutty to see people in other parts of the world who have their medical and interview done and visa in hand within a couple of weeks of the NOA2, and we are stuck in limbo-land here for months. (I'm happy for everyone who gets their visa, of course! ... but frustrated and jealous too).

Anyway... they've got to open up some soon. Waiting (not so patiently) right along with you. Hang in!

    ---

ps. you probably meant to post this in the K1 section, insteal of IR/CR-1?

you actually CAN get your medical done before your appointment is book... i had mine done by dr. seiden in toronto. if they know you've got your packet 3 and are just waiting to book the appointment, they will let you have your medical. it's good for ... I forget... 6 months? a year? I did, I booked it and turned out my interview was two weeks later.. worked out perfect. Now, maybe it was just not a busy time for them. But give it a try.

  7. Thanks Matty's girl! I sent an email inquiring a week ago and didn't hear anything back yet. It's great to get a better idea as to when there will be appointments. Here's hoping that maybe we will have interviews by the end of the week.

Heads up the site appears to be under maintenance tonight, and in the past, that has been a sign that appointments might be coming available. I accidentally clicked my old favorited 'book an appointment" and it says its under maintenance..... keep clicking guys this could be it.

good luck, it will happen soon.

  8. I was just getting on my email and accidentally clicked on "book an appointment" .. my old link to the booking appointment in montreal site... and it said the site is under maintenance ....this could mean some appointments are coming available, in the past, when the site was down and under maintenance that has happened. Just wanted to let you know... good luck

  9. Hey guys,

Perhaps this will be helpful for all whom are waiting to schedule an interview. All we can do is be hopeful at this point.

That is Great that you got THAT MUCH information from them!!!! Way to go!! And as long as I'm throwing in my 2 cents... we stayed at the Phillipe Square hotel and loved it!!! it was quiet, had a nice breakfast, and it was just a block and a half from the consulate. :) I booked it on booking.com.

  10. We've been checking too, around the 10th or so it said next avialable appointment in 37 days. Its too bad we couldn't have booked then since the p4's were logged a few days later.(Well yours was, ours was logged on Feb 29th) All we can do is keep checking and try not to go crazy! When we called DOS to confirm our p4 was sent the rep we spoke to said that Montreal releases dates every month and there should be some soon. Heres hoping she is right!

When appointmments finally opened in October, they were available for quite a while... they opened from beginning of November into January. There was lots of shuffling. I grabbed the first one, Nov. 22, (i was elated) then next morning hearing there were earlier ones, went back in and got november 2nd! It's like the stock market opens!

Believe me when they open and you get one (and it will and you will) you will just be so happy. It will happen!! Unbelieveable we have to do it this way, but we do!:luv:

  11. For those who have booked recently, do we still have the option of paying at the time of the interview or have they done away with that?

I went last November and paid at the interview. You bring 300 and whatever it was in cash and pay at a window. If the appointment calendar is offered just get an appointment locked in and do not worry about payment. Maybe you could look up timelines for people who went in December or January and message them to see how the payment process went... :star:

  12. Hi All,

Just require some clarification. I just sent my packet 3 to Montreal. I was under the impression that Montreal or NVC scheduled the interview for you and then notified you via email or snail mail. Is this not the case? Is it up to the K1 applicant/beneficiary to schedule the interview?

If someone can shed some light on this, it would be very much appreciated.

    Thxs

    Moe

If you are a K1 visa they will notify you that your packet 4 is ready... which means you are ready to schedule an interview, which you do by going on the website. If you are already married, it is a different process and they give you the date of your interview.

  13. This is the most disheartening/maddening thing I've ever heard :(

We filed in July and received Packet 4 two weeks ago. Planned the wedding for May because the lawyer ASSURED us everything would be completed by January...guess not.

I'm glad I found this community, because I've been feeling very low about the whole thing. Thanks for taking the time to write out your experiences everyone :) And happy waiting!

I really think that you will be OK for May!!! Even if it's say another 6 weeks to your appt. date... then a week or so to get the visa... then over the border... still tons of time til May. :hehe:

  14. just recently filed on 1/26/2012 and recently completed my biometrics. I know that I must get my AP approved before leaving the country, however, I have a Wedding that I am in scheduled for May 4th in Jamaica. I know I must remain in the US until I am approved. I know that if I leave the US before that time, I will be considered to be abandoning my application.

Typically AP approval takes approximately 90 days, however, what if it isn't processed by then? Are there any alternatives to expedite the process because I already have the flight and hotel booked and paid for? Help! Thanks!

my AP came exactly one month after my biometrics and many others do too. You should be OK for May!

  15. Some people have waited as long as 2 months before they got an interview. :( Just gotta be persistent. I gave my husband my login information so he could check while I was at work.

me too... we had 3 people on watch... it was crazy... we clicked all the time... every few minutes!!!! from whenever I got up till 9 or 10 at night!!! we tried to find out if they came available at particular times but in the end... it seems like they come available during the day. And in hindsight I would almost not worry and just wait til everyone says there are appointments! :) so don't worry too much but try when ever you can. When they come available... it'll be more than a minute if they open up a month like they did for us.

  16. yes that's true... if you see an appointment... grab it... just click on the accept box and keep going... you can always go back into the calendar later to pick another date. So if when you click 'ready to schedule' a date comes up... you don't need to read all the stuff.... scroll down till you see a box that says 'confirm' or "accept' I can't remember... then continue and make sure you click any necessary boxes... no need to read all the stuff.

you don't have to worry about paying first, many pay right at the interview (although that was last year... things could have changed)

good luck you will make it... we all did!

  17. this is a big topic...search it and you can see threads of other periods when there was an appointment 'drought'. Sometimes they pop up in a group of 10 or more, in which case they dissappear very quickly, , but sometimes a whole month and more of appointments will open up at once. Get on a thread with other people trying to get appointments right now and see what the current situation is. I was in a group that started to try to get appointments in September and we clicked the website for about 6 weeks before they opened up. When I got mine, it was about two weeks away, but appointments for up to 6 weeks away were available. I think this might have been an unusually long time without openings. . As of that time, there was no way to gain any ground by calling or emailing. There IS a number to call but they just tell you that "they see what you see on the website". You just had to keep checking the site. Once those appointments opened up, there were some available for several weeks afterward I think. So any time you have available to go on and check... that's the thing to do. And get on a thread with others ... they will announce on here when appointments have come open. It's a support group!

Good luck and I hope they open soon. I'm sure someone more recent will give you more recent account of this...

  18. I am 55 so I had more math to do than you do  I put a "see attached" and then listed all the places i've lived. I was out in B.C. in the 70's at school for 6 months, so I called that school and they found my records and gave me my address back then. whenever I was back at my parents place between schools etc., I just put in brackets (parental home) or you could put (sister's home) or whatever if you think it would be logical. I didn't have EXACT dates either and just put months and year. If I recall you didn't need to put the day of the month. Even off a month in the 80's is not going to be crucial. But yes, I spent a long time going back through any records to find every address and no, do not leave any gaps. Good luck!

Darn, I thought it wasn't going through !! Please excuse the repeats!:bonk:
