  1. Sarah, we will have to stay longer because of the kids TB tests so if I were you I would plan 4 days at least... that is if you do the Medical your first morning, then ASC same day in the afternoon...wait 3 days (72 hors for TB test) go to theinterview & then fly home & wait for your visas at DHL in your hometown.

Si I wrote a reply to your previous message but I dont know why it didnt go through. I was planning then, I didnt know that the 72 hours was to wait for some reaction, to fly there Thrusday, have medical and ASC on Friday, pick results up Monday and interview Thursday, how about that? I don't want to fly back to Mexico City, I'd rather wait in Juarez to receive them there.

  2. LOL! This is my worry with it...you travel all the way to Juarez (dodging bullets...I add this for effect, smirk) then they say after 10 days of waiting in a hotel...oops...looks like you need police certificates?

@#*& (insert spanish swear word of your choice)

    bummer...lastima!

fly back at high cost to get certificates..begin the process over.

So please if someone has gone through Juarez with NO police certificates on K1 fiancee visa (I think you do need for spouse visa) PLEASE tell us!

    Happy mothers Day everyone!

C_Maria...I am soooo happy you & Robe are together with Baby this first Mother's Day! Congrat's!!!

    But Jay-Kay said this:

I know some things have changed since my husband went through Juarez back in Sept, but he did not need any police certificates.

So apparently not. Now I would like to know if the interviewer asked for them when Robe was there? I will search for other people from Mexico who have been through it and ask them :)

  3. Thanks Kim. Do you know if Juarez gives open appointments? If so, when would you be scheduling yours? I saw La Quinta, I was also wondering, since it's 4 of us, if the rooms could accept a fifth person (Michael) to be there with us, at least on the interview day and while we wait for the visa. Something that scares me too is the time C_Maria had to wait for his visa! Although I have also read that some people received it the following day which would be ideal. Now see this: we fly on Sunday, go to the medical on Monday. We would have to wait until Thursday to get the kids results, do I want to take the risk to have the interview on Friday? What if we don't get them? I think I would like to wait until Monday to make sure, what do you think? Anyway, if we had it on Friday, we would have to wait there the whole weekend to get it Monday, if we are lucky. But if we fly on Monday morning and do all that in one day and come bak the following day, and then we schedule the interview for Tuesday, we would fly Monday and then wait to get it, hopefully on Wednesday or Friday. And then we would cross. Does that make sense? What do you think?

  4. Especially because I have lived in 4 different cities, including Tijuana!! That is why I am really hoping I don't need it and I want to believe that page where it states they are unavailable is true... Let's see what the consulate says...

  5. It also states this on the travel.gov site:

IMPORTANT NOTICE - ABOUT POLICE CERTIFICATES: Some countries require a specific Police Certificate Request form to properly request and obtain Police Certificate(s).The Reciprocity by Country page indicates those countries.

Police certificates from certain countries are unavailable.

More specific information is available from NVC, the nearest United States immigrant visa processing post, or online at: http://travel.state.gov/visa/frvi/reciprocity/reciprocity_3272.html.

On the reciprocity page for Mexico it lists:

    Police Records

    Unavailable.

    "POLICE CERTIFICATES

Police certificates are required from every visa applicant aged 16 years or over for each locality of the country of the applicant’s nationality or current residence where the applicant has resided for at least six months since attaining the age of sixteen. Police certificates are also required from all other countries where the applicant has resided for at least one year. Generally, application for such certificates should be made directly to police authorities in the district in which you resided. If you have any questions about where or how to apply for police certificates in other countries, you may communicate directly with the U.S. consular office processing your visa applications.

Do not attempt to obtain police certificates covering residence in any of the following countries, as they are not available:

    AFGANISTAN* GUATEMALA* MALAYSIA* SRI LANKA

    ANGOLA* HAITI* MEXICO SUDAN

    AZERBAIJAN* HONDURAS* MOLDOVA SYRIA*

    BANGLADESH* INDONESIA MONGOLIA TAJIKISTAN

You can also search for Mexico Police Certificate here on VJ, and there will be previous posts about it stating Mexico is listed as a country where they are unavailable.

If you can get one, it won't hurt at all to have it. I just do not believe it is required.

Does anyone know if the people going through Juarez now are being specifically asked for a police certificate, even if they have no criminal record?

I found this page too, and also here, where it talks about gathering documents, talks about country reciprocity. I have directly written to the consulate in Juarez, hopefully they will respond

  6. Hi! Since I'm traveling with 3 kids (one 18 yo and twins 8 yo), I was wondering if I could do this?

    - Fly early Monday, have medical (the 4 of us), and ASC appointment to get fingerprints and pictures (could that be done on the same day?)

    - Fly back the following morning

    - Fly next Sunday to Juarez, to have interview on Monday

It would be great not to have to spend all those days in Juarez, because of hotel and meals and a weekend in between, and since it's 4 of us.

What do you think? Thanks!! :help:

  7. We did hire a lawyer and what he said was that it was going to be as fast as possible. It took less than 4 months to get our NOA2 and we didn't have any RFEs, that's what he said it would happen. But I agree, you can do it on your own, in fact, if we had found this site beore sending everything, we wouldn't have had a lawyer I think.

Good look with your application, everybody here is so nice and the experienced people are always willing to share and help :)

  8. Thanks to both. So what should I do with the medical for the kids, since it takes 3 days? they take theirs on Monday, then I go take mine on Wednesday and I pick all the results on THursday?

Also, you mean the petition for fiance has been approved by their approving form I-129F, and now I need to fill other documents for the kids? I will do more research on that, thanks a lot :)

  9. Thanks for any input!

My son will turn 18 on July 11 and we can't locate his father therefore he has to wait and get his passport himself. He has been included in my K1 petition. Do I need another form or him being included in K1 is enough? Do I have to take anything else into consideration due to him being 18 at the time of interview? Do you know if all interviews for K1 are open in Juarez?

    Thanks again :)
