    N-400 - March 2017 Filers

Thanks for the messages @MAHUNA @sunshinestate2013 @JoeSchmoe2017 PAINT ME RED, I'm a US Citizen!!! Sorry for the delay, we arrived back from Mexico the day before my interview and we just closed on a new house; it's been a bit crazy here! My interview was at 8am on Thursday 4/19, I arrived at the check-in desk at 7:30 exactly for my 8am interview time (the check-in lady downstairs wasn't actually going to let me up until 7:30 ON THE DOT) I was called in at 7:45am My interviewer was very nice, businesslike but friendly but we did chat a little about my country. I swore to tell the truth, then we went through the N-400 question by question, and it took a while to add the times I had travelled out of the country in the 13 months since I sent in N-400, plus I had changed jobs so he made notes to that effect. My questions were: Who wrote the declaration of independence? What are three of the original 13 states? What is one state bordering Canada? What is the party of the current President? Who signs bills into law? (can't remember the exact wording) What are the two main political parties in the US? He asked me if I was able to attend oath ceremony that afternoon at 1:30pm, I think I might have said "hell yes." We rolled around Southcenter and came back at 1pm. The ceremony didn't end up starting until about 2:30 as there was some confusion with the form version some people had been given and it took a while for the officers to confirm that the "wrong" forms were actually okay. Someone had arrived with an oath ceremony letter and not actually scheduled that day, not sure what had happened there but I hope the man had not had to come far because they did not let him join. The ceremony itself was brief but more emotional for me than I expected it to be. We stood for the National Anthem and then there was an introduction by the officer in charge (Seattle Director not there that day) 77 people were becoming citizens that day from 27 countries. We all stood up as they announced our country of current citizenship and then remained standing as we took the oath of allegiance. We sat, there was some more speech and then the certificates were handed out. Super proud and happy to be a US citizen finally and to be done with immigration Good luck and speedy processing to those still waiting. Candace

@MAHUNA - I saw your post and I thought we would be the same day (bad for me as I am out of the country!) but I received the letter on Saturday and my interview is April 19th - just after I get back from my trip. So relieved! Sending good vibes to all waiting for news. Candace

Thank you @sunshinestate2013 I called in to USCIS to speak to L2 officer just to put me out of my misery on the interview date, but they aren't transferring anyone right now due to volume of calls (not surprised with these processing times, right?!) so I'll try again later.

@MAHUNA I got the text! 95% YAY and 5% "REALLY, right now?!!!!" :):) So it's scheduled; I'm going to try to call and find out the date, seeing as it's likely to be during my time out of the country. I'll let you know if I hear, otherwise it will be waiting for the letter.

Yay! Congratulations! FANTASTIC NEWS!! I have not heard anything yet, and my status is still the same online - but I am super excited to hear about your interview date! Also a bit nervous on my part, I am out of the country from 6th-17th April so fingers crossed mine is not then! ~Candace

Hi Laura - do you mean adding a paper-filed receipt number to the my uscis account? If so, yes, I was able to add mine. Candace

Happy New Year, my fellow "patient" March filers! Funny to think I was worried about my interview being schedule during a vacation I took back in September... actually, not at all funny. But... there are many people awaiting their USCIS communication and not already living here. So for that part I am grateful. I have a roof over my head and food to eat. I have a UK passport, I can travel, and I still have another year left on my current GC. @MAHUNA, my fellow Seattleites, and all on this thread, I have everything crossed for you to receive the "interview scheduled" update soon!
  11. @vetswife328 - I don't think there's ever a reason to worry about getting a quick interview :):) it makes no sense except the online filing part - March (paper) filer here, resident since January 2017. Good luck to you!

    Crickets over here....
  13. Seattle March filer here, in line since May. I'm interested to see any movement on Seattle cases ahead of mine. The Seattle case status page shows a huge hole between June and November for interviews, but it looks like Dec/Jan filers are finally getting dates.
