I came here on a K1 visa and later my hubby petitioned my 2 kids thru I-130. My kids were able to get their passport with out me.It was my mom who accompanied my minor kids in getting their passports but still u have to go through a lot of documentation and such.
You hav to have authenticated documents from here to be sent to whoever is applying for the passport.

For me it is just very SIMPLE. If they ask for your wife's green card..then why not provide them a copy of it?? WHy make things complicated when it is so easy to solve the issue.

Your kids can follow u within a year. You do not have to pay for their visa first unless they will have their schedule for interview. You have options to bring them with u less cost and less time being spent or they follow u within a year on a k2 visa.
I am not recommending this but i would like to share my experience as well. I came here on a K1 visa and i did not bring my kids with me( 10 and 6 at that time).
I waited for the right time that me and hubby will be married for 2 years so we can petition the kids for I-130 for them to get the Immigrant or IR2 visa.
Once they are here on the IR2 visa the kids will no longer be adjusting their status or removing their conditions coz they will receive their 10 yrs. green card a few weeks later after entry to the US.
Aside from being away from my kids..i adjusted here well and got a good job first ,,being able to stand on my own feet(drive back and forth to work)
It is hard to be away from ur kids but everything was planned and it all worked out good in God's time and my kids are finally here with us.

Been to the same situation when i had my K1 journey in 2006. 221 g paper is given to those visa applicants who are not approved right away after the interview. Reason could be they need additional documents from you or they need more document verification.
I got one same 221 g that says "wait till u hear from us" and did not mention any lacking documents they need from me.
I was so scared and did nothing but wait. Exactly after a month i got my visa in the mail. Good luck and just hang in there.

I hate to say it since i am also from the Philippines. That is their modus operandi to make extra money. I went home in November 2010.. and the same situation happened to me.. I used their phone to call my mom who was just outside the waiting area waiting for me.
The good thing is i am also Filipino so i already smell something fishy is going to happen. I did not buy a new simcard but i did use their cellphone till i was able to reach my mom. I gave the guard only 2 $1 bill(LOL),,and he even complained so i said to him whatt???
Go walk the entire building and see if u can find a dollar bill and left with a smile on my face...

ha! ha! ha ! that was funny but true. One thing i can add is because we filipinas prioritize our marriage and family first and foremost more than anything. We always make sure we takes care of our family .

For Travel to US or visa purposes is okay.
