  1. Hehehetime to stop playing house ... hope they realize.

The blue sheet interview is basically just dropping off the results and passport and the embassy will let the applicant know if approved. If you need an actual review I can contact Alisha and have her write a true statement or you can review the consulate/embassy section on here located at the top of this page or at the following link.

Thanks I would appreciate that...would really love to hear her point of view after all this

  2. I think I missed where the case was delayed for 3 months, I saw where she completed the DNA test but nothing further on the topic....

    :thumbs::thumbs: for the stepmother.

Yea I agree, we are very close and I do commend her for the way she has handled the situation and how I am embraced, not all women are like that.

Friend Morris had the issue 3 weeks ago

    http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/293547-interview-tomorrow/page__view__findpost__p__4452897

and our famous Mandyt had the same issue 3-4 months ago

Yes I see where Morris went through the same thing...

This from what was explained to me happens alot in the cases here in Jamaica and I have no objections on the testing, it is sad and my heart goes out to the ones who then find out that it was not their father, I cannot imagine going through such a heartbreaking experience....

But from all of the posts I have been through I have not come across the Blue Sheet interview experience, what is that like? This will be my 3rd time back, I did the initial interview submitted medical and was interviewed for a short time, went back for the sample collection and now I will head back for the said Blue Sheet interview submitting the additional documents they had asked for.....

I am only wondering if it will be more of an interview this time around or just submitting the additional documents and awaiting the decision.. :help:

  3. with that being said the father should be submitting this paper work unless she just decided to bring him to the USA after all of 30 years. DNA could have been avoided - possibly.. I know the procedures happening down at Kingston's Embassy. However - if proofs dating back to birth/early childhood was submitted then that might have fulfilled the required info.

I am a girl... :) I am not so sure DNA could have been avoided, I mean wouldnt you question the legitimacy of the relationship as well? I knew I would...

That is why they are fact checking OP born within the marriage but not of the wife. This give cause for some head scratching... So 20 yeARS LATER THEY ARE NOW FILING FOR THE CHILD.

    NOT JUDGING, JUST RELAYING FACTS.

Yes since I was not born to my dad's wife (stepmom/petitioner) they are indeed checking on the legitimacy as I pointed out just above. Scratching their heads is correct, and as such I was expecting more questions rather than proof but nothing beats proof. My dad's name was added to my birth certificate after his wife and children learnt of my existence which later on in my life....that is the reason why this being done late so to speak....

I would never assume that you are or were judging, it has happened so I am not offended either way....

Has anyone ever had a Blue Sheet/Document submission interview and what was the experience like? any threads with a similar nature i could read up on?

  4. From my view the DNA should not have been requested since i your dad isn't the one who is petitioning for you. Unless they want to connect you as being "his daughter" to tie you into "the" marriage." i would have asked why was this needed.

I more than understand why a DNA test was requested, my dad's name was added to my birth certificate somewhere between 12/14yrs old there about not sure of the exact time, so the CO said she needed the results to authenticate the relationship which I had no problems with.

  5. well of late the consulate in Jamaica request this information of the "other" parent's immigration status. Guess want to ensure they are not illegal.

    That is understandable

they must be questioning the relationship also if a DNA is requested

    I figured as much

Well now that it is out of the way and I have proven that I am my father's child, I am in the process of preparing the documents requested and getting ready for my next interview.

My question now is: Has anyone ever had a 'Blue Sheet' (document submission)interview experience? I am curious to know what this 2nd interview experience like...

  6. So my case has been going on for some time... I am not sure of the date that my case was filed but here goes....

My approval letter was dated: December 08 2008

All my fees were paid and some of the final documents were sent in October of 2010.

My case was completed by NVC on the 2nd of November 2010

I received an email on December 6th 2010 informing me of my visa interview date

I did my medical by St. Andrews Hospital on the 21st of December collected on the 3rd of January

    leading up to the interview...

I had an 8:30 am appointment I got to the embassy at 8:15, some nice ladies were outside they checked if my name was on a list and told me to wait in line, at 8:30 I went through the security check point and walked down to this heavy metal door, the security guard asked for the passport and photos and then gave me a number and told me to go to the right (immigrant visa section). Now the numbers were not being called in order so I was very alert. The room was packed for only 5 people working at the windows. Now after 45 min i then figured out that of the 5 windows, two ladies collected documents and finger prints and the other 3 were the actual COs. After an exhausting wait, my documents were collected and then a another long wait later my number was called by the female CO....

(actual interview) now this did not last long, she asked who was filing for me I told her my step mom and she told me to pick up the phone, then she said in order for her to continue with my case there are a few things that I would need to do, the first one being a DNA to prove that the relationship is authentic. So I was handed the BLUE SHEET and was told the process will take as long as I wait to do the test.

The following week i paid for the DNA testing kit, I was called in for the sample collection February 2nd @ 9:30 am

Last week I received a call from a very pleasant lady informing me of my next appointment and this is all the way in May well may 9th to be exact, this time around I need to take in tax returns for my dad and step mom and copies of documents that show my dads status in the country.

I am not sure why they are asking me for more things from my dad than my step mom seeing he isnt my petitioner. And I hope that this interview is it and that they wont be asking for anything else.

Anyone else in a similar situation or has every been?

  7. booo hoo. got blue sheet to do a DNA TEST bcuz of the addition of my dad's name on the birth certifcate in 04. not cool! aint the saddest but definately not happiest person right now. tsk. well thats the only prob so just gotta get it done.

got blue sheet (as xpected) to do a DNA TEST bcuz of the addition of my dad's name on the birth certifcate in 04. not cool! aint the saddest but definately not happiest person right now. tsk. well thats the only prob so just gotta get it done.

Well just make sure you get that done ASAP, is that the only thing they requested on the Blue Sheet?

  8. But my income was sufficient, my income is well over the threshold. I don't understand how they could arbitrarily decide not to go by what is in the guidelines. This is why I've emailed them directly to try to get a real idea of what they have said because since I was not there, I don't know what they told the children's mother.

Any update on this thread? Did you send in the copy of their dads green card and what happened next?
