  1. I would have thought that someone be it a INS employee, or embassy official would have all read from the same song sheet and be able to clarify an answer to the question - (as well as a laywer). Would an official/ employee not be in a better position to answer that question than even a lawyer?

the best thing to do would be a lawyer BUT the next best thing would be when you have your interview in London, be prepared & take the filled out waiver with you, that way if the Embassy says you need a waiver then you can file it right there & then!...................Good Luck & fingers crossed

  2. Ok that is great guys, but my question is...do you need the barcode??????

NO you dont "need" the barcode, The electronic version of that form puts a barcode on before you print it out, but you can just fill out the one they sent you, i think the barcode just makes it easier for the staff at the embassy, rather than having to tpye the info into the system, they just scan the barcode!!

  3. Hi!

The DS 230 have been generated for my husband's IR visa on the 25th and I need to know some information please......

Does the NVC send the DS 230 to my husband in Sri Lanka or me? (I'm the Agent for him).

If they send it to him, should I print it out from the state dept website and fedex it to him and have him fill it out and send it back to me, and send it to the NVC with the cover letter that I made with James shortcuts?

    Or

Just fill it out myself since I'm the agent, and send it to them with the cover letter (and also the copy of his passport)?

please as soon as you can.

    Thanks...................

Your husband has to fill it out, and send it back with a copy of the bio page of his passport, it will be quicker if he can download the form himself if he has internet access!!

  4. When I sent back packet three I sent back the checklist with it, and this had information about the documents required on it, and now I want to see it again! I sent back the packet having ticked everything when in reality I am still gathering. Does anyone have a copy of the 4 pages they want sent back with the checklist? I know I should have photocopied it.. I still haven't learnt!

I am getting paranoid that I've forgotten something again, and would like reassurance from the bit of paper that I am doing it right...

    Maria x

You can get a copy online!!..i used a checklist i downloaded to send to the Embassy, its not exactly the same but it has all the same documents on it!!.........

  5. I've already been there and read it over. But like I said, Im not familiar with filing over here in the states. I filed in Korea with my wife.

But let me give this a go. And correct me where I am wrong.

I file the I-130 at the Texas Service Center.

Then wait the year or more for them to approve it.

The Packet 3 or whatever is sent to them in PI.

They wait another 6 months for an appointment date in PI to get there Visa's.

    I miss anything?

Yes you file a I-130 for each of the kids!

if your service center is Texas then they will be transfered to California, (not a year) look at the processing dates for CSC!!, once approved at the service center, they then go to NVC, where you will have processing fee's to pay, as for how long after you have case complete at NVC to interview in PI i have no idea each country is different!!

    Good luck

EDITED to say..........................You as a USC & also the childrens stepfather will have to sponser them not your wife!!

CR1=married less than 2 years!, conditional resident!!

  6. Oh my 10 year old is the same  .........but he's healthy, my 23 year old was the same too at that age, he would NEVER eat veggies, then once he reached about 16 he couldnt get enough veggies, infact he told me recently that he LOVES veggies and could just eat those with no meat!!!

Kids are such a funny breed :P

  7. I read somewhere that it is the NVC that schedules your interview and not the embassy is this true ?, and if it is does this mean you can find out your interview date by calling the NVC before your case is recieved at the embassy ?

Also what do you need to schedule your medical?, can you do this from info you can get from the NVC or do you have to await until it has arrived at the Embassy ?

    Thanks in advance.. :D

Your interview will be scheduled by the London Embassy!!

you can't find out your interview date from NVC, but you can find out if you have "case complete", you can either keep emailing the embassy or call DOS to find out if you have an interview scheduled, but first you have to wait untill your case is at the Embassy!!, you can call & arrange a medical useing your LND#

  12. Hi

I am about to start the K3 application for my new wife (L) [uK citz] . I am green card holder since 1997 and do not wish to become a US citizen. All the research I have done refers to USC - is there a different application or process when the sponsor is a LPR.? Are the processing times similar or will I be a ;second class; applicant?

one other question is - I was absent from the us for the last tax year due to family berevement and thus have no US based income from that year - I know that I must prove income support for the K3 and need advice how to best present my situation to CIS - I have substancial cash assets and pensions that will be transfered to US eventually - can this be taken into account inlieu of proven income history

    Thanks

As a LPR you can file the I-130 BUT it takes a much longer time to be processed, you might want to look at the timelines for the service centers that process the I-130, you would send your I-130 to 1 of the 4 service centers, I.E Cal;ifornia,Vermont,Texas & Nebraska, Texas & Nebraska would forward your I-130 to California as only they & Vermont now process the I-130, but you must still send it to YOUR correct center!!!

as for a LPR being eligible to file K3, i could'nt say, i think NOT!! but have been wrong before!!

    https://egov.immigration.gov/cris/jsps/Proc...nter=California

for a LPR to file through California....the dates they are currently processing are I-130's with a receipt date of, January 1st 2005, for USC to file a I-130 the processing now dates, February 02 2006

Good Luck with whatever you decide to do

  13. Some good news - I was informed today that I got a job! I had the interview last week. It is for a teaching fellow position at the University of Virginia!!

Just hope I get the green card now. It would be kind of ironic if I don't!

    Kiki (F)

    :dance::dance::dance::dance::dance:

WOW! That's super news! I'm really really tickled for you Kiki!

I don't think you need to worry about getting the card. But it stinks waiting doesn't it?

Thank you Rebecca! I am quite amazed actually. I feel very lucky - at one stage I felt in a "hole" and couldn't see an end to this all. The college is great and so are the staff in the science department. I am very excited - I'll be starting work next week! I am also terrifed! :P

I hope that you and Wes do hear something very soon. The waiting in limbo is dreadful. I can't believe I have been here 8 months already! My AOS was held up by my fingerprints which were "illegible". I got an RFE for that and had to obtain a local police certificate. I am kind of nervous as I was unsure what to send back exactly. I know they have received it, so the waiting begins again...

Keep us posted - let's hope you hear something positive back real soon!

    Kiki (F)

Oh WOW Kiki thats great news, your going to be the new girl :P .............. (L)

  14. I feel like going home and never working again. I wonder how that would work out.

Well I can think of one person who maaaaaaay not be excited about that. (no, not me. Your wife.)

Once our savings ran out, I suspect I wouldn't be too wild about it either

Not to mention your future children, who would be living in cardboard boxes and playing with empty tin cans.

Tin? Do you know how much tin costs these days? What do you think I am, a Rockefeller?

  15. Do you ever feel like you want to move back to the UK?

Uh huh i have had "THOSE" moments........ :o some times they last for bloody ages too  good job i have no flight money
