Are financial documents like the affidavit of support (i-864) and the federal income tax returns i sent to the NVC required at the interview? I seem to be getting conflicting information from different sources, and i tried emailing the embassy and got a less than helpful response. Do the requirements for original documents generally vary depending on the specific embassy?

IR-1 Visa

Before she wen to interview. She received interview letter reminder and need to upload

Thai police certificate and previous expired(due to the COVID-19 the first one was expired)

Last name change certificate

So, I upload police certificates on CEAC additional documents. On PDF file, 1st page is Old one and 2nd page is new one(big mistake).

My wife just went to interview(December 14, 2020).
Everything was going smoothly until interview officer gave her 221g white paper that she need to upload police clearance certificate. Interview officer only ask for original documents and gave her original documents back but Kept her passport .
she went outside and called me on Facebook messenger and asked why didn t I upload it. I showed her on my computer screen that I upload those two documents and showed to her that the new police certificate was on 2nd page. She went back(sound weird but she did went back to embassy) and told them. But they insisted that they didn t have it on the system and double checked.

I was very upset that they didn t check 2nd page or how did they miss it. Only thing we can is wait...Anyone have the same experience as me? Thank you

I just want to express my frustration.

Best way to ship belongings to USA from Bangkok?

I am pretty sure all my fianc es clothes and things will not fit in our luggage even if I find a way to meet her to escort her to USA hopefully in first half of 21'

I know in the Philippines there is some sort of a standard box and fee for shipments each way.

One place I looked said using thai post is a good method

https://www.thailandpost.co.th/index.php?page=index&language=th

Also I am trying to get her to try on all of her clothes and try to reduce things that don't fit or she or I don't like. Any advice on that? I love to see a woman try on clothes and while I want her top have her own style it is hard for her to imagine living in a snowy 4 season climate. ITs not that she has so many things only for a hot climate as it gets to 38c here in summer.

we will send an i130 to USCIS in a couple of days and my wife still has her original name on all her docs, id card, passport, etc. so that's the name i've used on the i130. its a bit of a pain to change her family name to mine right now.

if she wants to change to my name in the next few months or years before the whole ir/cr1 process is complete would that be a problem? should she stick with her maiden name until we get the green card then change later? or should we wait to file i130 until she's changed to my name?

thanks steve

there is a question in the I-130 about where you plane to live when you get the green card. We are actually planning to live in North Carolina but do not have an address there so the only address i have is my son's address in CA. I don't live in USA now, i'm in Thailand with my wife so i'm filing I130 on line.

there is a question about which USCIS center to file, can I choose Potomac? i assume that would be the one for NC, an its also faster processing than CA. when she gets the green card, we would prefer to fly to the east cost, not CA

thanks
