My wife (Thai national) just got her I-130 approved. I have completed the DS-260's for both her and her daughter, I have uploaded the docs with the exception of the Police Certification. What is this and is there a sample form that she can take to the police precinct for them to complete? Thank you, Dave

Noom's citizenship was approved yesterday, and the oath was administered, so his immigration journey is at an end! It is such a relief, and we're both so happy. It has been a long journey, frustrating and emotional...and lots of work, too. As Noom said yesterday, its like a huge mountain has been removed from his brain. I applied for his K1 visa in April 2016...4 years and 7 months ago. Since then life has been full of documenting, saving, filing everything to prove our relationship. What a relief now not to worry about that! I think the hardest thing about the whole process is the lack of updates, news, etc...its a huge black hole. No news is good news they say, but for me long stretches of no news played with my brain and emotions. That said, if it were not for Visa Journey the process would have been so much worse. Having folks to learn from, to commiserate with, to encourage...plus all the timelines and process information... truly made the journey easier. Thank you all! And good luck to everyone still waiting... --David & Noom .jpg.b3984ae5199925e90e90f0956bf22289.jpg)

Hi all, I recently received my green card but have not been able to change my last name on my social security card yet because the office has been closed. Within the same week, I also accepted a job at another employer and they are asking for my SSN. Do I submit the old one with my maiden name? Would they be able to update that later? Or would this delay my process since I will have to get my new card with my new last name? Thank you so so much for your help/advice on this.

So my question is I as a US citizen live full-time at the moment in Thailand with my Thai wife. Next year I will be completing my bachelor's and want to move back to the United States so that I can start the process of bringing my wife to the US after I get a job. We have been married for three and a half years and got married here in Thailand. Now I am confused as to what a Visa I should apply for. Do I apply for the cr1, K3, ir-1 or I'm not sure. Any help and experience in this area would be helpful

Hi everyone, My Fiance and I are in the k1 process but she is currently here with me in the US on her tourist visa. She has been here since late June. Our plan was to fly back to Thailand, for her to do her interview, and then come back to US to get married. Unfortunately, Thai borders are still closed and not even close to our filing month interviews. And of course, covid situation is getting worse around the world. Without many choices, we decided it would be best to get married here now. The problem is, her tourist visa expires Early December and everything in booked out in our (San Diego) county until Mid December. I called neighboring counties and they are not accepting out of country residents. Additionally, they said most counties are not accepting other counties. 1) Does anyone know any counties where we can get a license/married in California, before the end of November? 2) Are there any downsides if we get married in another state (not sure if it affects anything because she is not a citizen)? 3) The county clerk suggested contacting wedding chapels. Sounds a bit sketchy to me. has anyone done this/any downsides of doing so? 4) Are there any counties open to out of county residents for virtual marriage ceremony? If anyone has any tips/suggestions regarding our situation, I would greatly appreciate it!
