Hello. Does anyone know how is the location for the interview, is it given by you by USCIS?, do they assign the location for the interview according with your address? I don't remember being asked the filing office, except for the lockbox Chicago IL. and what would happen if we move out of state in the middle of the process. I know the is a form we would have to file, but how ofter is the case updated? another question, is there a way to see how your case updates online? Thanks in advance! Alvaro

Hello everybody, I have a question regarding cosponsor: my father in law who is going to help us with the financial requirements of the process doesnt live physically with us, but he claimed my partner as his dependant on his last tax returns. I am confused whether we should have him do another i864 as a joint sponsor or if we should do a i864A considering him as a household member whose income is going to be combined. I think he should be a joint sponsor but i dont know if we would still have to include his income as part of our household considering he has claimed my partner on his tax return the previous years. I would appreciate your help! Thanks

Hello, I'm a little concerned to be outside our house with my I-94 date expired. What could I reply if I'm stopped and don't have any document from the USCIS that proves that I'm in the middle of a process of AOS. We send our papers mid february (before my I94 expiring, and probably won't have any documentation that states that we are in the middle of the AOS process. I'm not freaking out becuase I read nothing will happen, but just wondering the worst case scenario. Thanks!

Can USCIS or ICE call you to let you know 'someone' has accused you of fraud, and let you know that 'they are sending an officer to detain you?' |

I received a call today from a person that said his name is 'Ryan Reese.' He identified himself as someone calling from USCIS to inform me about this supposed complaint against me/my case. Then he asked if the embassy had tried to contact me (I haven't interacted with the US Embassy based in my country since 2018 when I moved here.) The only reason I picked up this call is because my iPhone showed the caller ID as 'US GOVT DEPT OF.' Later, I researched the number 313-568-6049. It appears that this is ICE's number. So this is the 1st contradictory information: Why would this person identify themself as an USCIS employee, if they are calling for ICE? The tone and manners of the person didn't seem professional either. He kept arguing saying 'You don't understand the severity of how this can affect your immigration case' and towards the end of the call he even declare 'I'll be sending an officer to your address today.' I decided to not volunteer any information, I kept asking for a letter or a ticket # to call back later (I was in the middle of my workday.) I'm still startled by this conversation. But I know there isn't anything wrong with my case and/or relationship with my husband. However, I would like to hear if someone has received this kind of call. Or, if they call before being visited by ICE.

On form I-130, Part 5, question 1, it asks if I have ever filed a petition for this alien before. I have filed 129F for my wife because we originally were waiting on a fiancee visa for her, but since she was visiting me in the US, we decided to get married and go for AOS. Do I answer no or yes for this question (because of the 129F?) We consulted an immigration lawyer before getting married and I asked him about this question and he said no: "That question generally refers to immigrant petitions, and though the consulate treats an I-129F as a quasi immigrant petition, USCIS treats it mainly as a nonimmigrant petition. Basically, what they re asking you there is if you ve ever sponsored someone before for a green card, which is limited to forms I-130 & I-140. So you would answer no." I just wanted to ask to see if anyone thought differently. For form I-864, part 6, question 25, there is a box that says "I've attached evidence that I didn't have to file taxes..."' For 2018 I didn't have any income (I did, but it was below the IRS threshold) so I didn't file taxes. What evidence could I send to show I didn't need to file taxes?
