| Visiting US partner with my B1/B2 Visa |

We ideally would like to get me a visa which allows me to move in and work for some time like normal couples would to get to really know each other before deciding to marry, but that seems basically impossible? I currently hold a valid B1/B2 visa which apparently allows me to stay for up to 6 months at one time without working. I'm nervous about this as I'm not sure how they will view this as me not trying to immigrate or work illegally, neither of which I plan to do at all. I have enough money saved up to be able to support myself so am not worried about showing proof for that. I am also unsure about if I definitely need a leaving ticket out of America or is the proof of funds enough? and when I have to leave, how long do I need to have been gone for before I'm allowed to return potentially for another 6 months? I feel like I have a million questions but now I can't think of anything else. Thanks in advance for any helpful stories of similar experiences and advice on how to go about this the right way.

Welcome all AOS filers for Sep 2024! Creating this thread as a place for us to discuss progress and support each other Previous monthly filing threads (such as this one and this one) have included checklists/instructions - feel free to check those out, but instead I would recommend simply reading through the relevant guide. Please double-check that this guide applies to your situation. I submitted on Sep 4 and received NOA1 for all applications on Sep 11. Unsure why, but on my USCIS online portal, the 'case was received...' entry reads Sep 6. Biometrics will be on Sep 30. Good luck all!

Hello, My partner and I have been married overseas for less than 2 years and am going back to visit in November. Thought it was a good time to change all my documents to my new last name. When starting the SSN name change application to arrange an appointment it says my marriage certificate can be US only. That's not our case. Can anyone tell me what I can do? Do I need to go to SS office when I am back or is there another document I need to get? Thanks for your help in advance!

Hey all, my husband and I are still in the process of filing our i485 due to delays with getting evidence and our lawyer refusing to file until I gave birth. During my pregnancy I was on Medicaid to help cover costs of prenatal care and delivery, and our lawyer told me that I need to get off Medicaid as soon as possible, and that my chances of being accepted could already have gone down due to me using Medicaid. This has really increased my anxiety, and I'm wondering if there has been any cases of someone being declined a green card because they used Medicaid for a pregnancy? My son is now enrolled to help with costs of his care, will that have an effect on my immigration? Every source online seems to conflict. Thank you in advance.

Hi, I hope this is the correct place to ask this, if not please let me know. I have a conditional green card that expires 02/15/2025, and am wanting to visit family over Christmas until 01/08/2025. Will this be possible? Will they let me into the country with just over a month left on my green card? im going to file for removal of conditions in November which will be within the 90 days of expiration, and I m hoping I will have a 24 month extension on my green card by the time I fly to the UK. This is just worse case scenario. i heard that with green cards i can be let back into the US right up until the date of expiration. Is this true? I tried to call USCIS but always find it difficult to get through to a person thank you for answers in advance!
