Hi, I had my IR1 interview earlier today at the Casablanca Consulate. It overall went really well. However, for the last question, the officer asked about a misdemeanor conviction from 2011. I disclosed everything on the DS-260, and submitted the court papers to the NVC. The papers reference a small theft under the influence of "drugs." They do not specify which drug(s) was/were used. When the officer asked about the case in the interview, I told him it was a mistake I made when I was younger. He took the papers I brought regarding the court case, and handed me the white administrative processing paper. He did not ask for any further documentation or clarification. He said he would get back to me in 2 or 3 weeks. The officer did not take my passport; the passport is in my possession. Based on the interactions from earlier in the interview, I feel confident I would have gotten the approval if it weren't for this conviction. My present court record and police record have been cleared since the incident in 2011. This is my only criminal offense. Can anyone provide any insights as to what might be going on, and what my outlook might be for getting the immigrant visa approval? Thanks in advance!

My fianc had his interview today but was denied the visa. Agent claimed the approved I-797 form expired in July. However, the embassy did not have any available appointments until August. I am unsure if there is anything more I can do

Hey, all. My fianc and I received our NOA2 mid-June. It's taking 60-90 days for shipping to DOS/NVC. My fianc (beneficiary) was living in Turkey, so we had Ankara as embassy for interview. My fianc has since moved back to his home country of Morocco, and we need to update the location to the consulate in Casablanca. I keep looking online (USCIS website, groups I'm in, etc.) but am unsure of when or where is the most appropriate time/entity to notify of this change. I did a PI and of course as NVC has not received it yet, they said they cannot locate the case and will "work with USCIS" (it's been two weeks and heard nothing back). Is anyone able to assist with how to go about changing this to minimize delay? We really don't want it going to the Ankara embassy and then taking longer to transfer. Thanks in advance.
