I have to apply for PCC on Passport Seva portal.
while applying I found this question.
Purpose for which PCC is required:

they have a drop down menu for this but I am little confused what should I select.
Can someone please suggest the correct option ?

I applied for expedited passport on november 30th 2022. Been almost 3 weeks and no status change apart from the fee check being cashed. How long is it taking these days ?

Could be a delay because of December (holidays and stuff) ? Recently became citizen and applied for passport.

I don t have birth certificate and my local city municipality in India is not providing any non availability of birth certificate as they don t have any evidence. I have all the other school records, PAN card, and affidavits from parents stating born at home as secondary proof of my birth. Im currently in USA on H1B and My wife has submitted my family based green card application through direct filing and currently it is under processing. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do now so that I have enough evidence in hand for my birth certificate before the interview date. I am not sure the documents I have are enough or if anyone has recently faced similar situation, please share your experience. Thanks in advance for your valuable suggestion and feedback

Hello everyone, I filed for I-485 in May22 through marrying my spouse who is a USC and I am an Indian Citizen on an F1 visa. To fulfill the Birth Certificate requirement, I attached a copy of my Original Birth Certificate in Hindi, a translation by me in English. One problem with my BC was that it didn't have my name on it since it is a pretty common cultural practice to name kids after their birth. But I never got it updated. Now USCIS wants me to send my Birth Certificate again, please guide me what I should do? Here's what options I have thought of:

1. Hire a lawyer and proceed under their guidance.

2. Get a new birth certificate made from India (Certified copies are not available in the state I was born) with my name and submit to USCIS.

3. Get a proper translation of my current Birth Certificate through a paid service without my name and submit the BC and translation.

Please share your opinions, thanks in advance!

So my wife application got DQ'ed from NVC on November 21 2022, Just wondering how long is the Mumbai Embassy taking for a USC Wife IR1 K3 interview. Or how long is it taking for NVC to forward it to the Mumbai Embassy for a response. Any USC applied for k3 visa ?

Please kindly respond only if your a USC. dont want to know about other visa categories and get confused.
