When you are sponsoring a Cuban/Haitian/Nicaraguan/Venezuelan on i-134a, you are agreeing to financially support them for two years. What are their options for medical insurance here in the USA? I am sure once they get their social security number (which should happen fairly quickly) they would be allowed to get medical insurance on the AHA market place... However what would their pricing be? Would they qualify for greatly discounted insurance since they have no income, or would they be required to use the sponsor's income to find out the cost of their coverage? Could be quite costly.

I like to get clarity on the length of support responsibility. I have read that sponsors on this new I-134A for Cubans are for the length of the parole, which is for 2 years. My question is, after the change in status and the beneficiary becomes a resident of the U.S. is the sponsor released of his support roll or does it continue until the 10yr rule or they become US Citizen, ect.. also like to know the same thing in the case of a K-1 visa, Thank you

I am engaged to a Cuban and we received NOA1 on Oct 18 2021. We have not received NOA2 yet. Yesterday Biden announced they were extending the Venezuelan immigration program to Cubans (and Haitians and Nicaraguans). https://www.uscis.gov/CHNV My basic understanding of this is that I should absolutely do this. All I need to do is complete a free i-134a application for my fianc e, she will then get security cleared (which she meets all the requirements I am sure) and then she will be able to come to the USA and file for EAD and a Social Security number. Then I was thinking once she arrives, when we feel the time is appropriate, we can then get married and file an AOS and file for her green card. Is there anything here that I should be concerned about? I am going to talk to a lawyer.
