No update after sending response to RFE

Hi, I received an RFE from my I-485 asking me for my marriage certificate and my I-693. I sent everything through the mail with FEDEX (original with seal marriage certificate and I-693 sealed by the doctor) and it says it was received and signed for on 12/19/2022. But my status online hasn't changed. It still says "Request for Initial Evidence was Sent". I have tried the chat on the USCIS website and they won't confirm that they received my package and keep saying I have to wait 60 days after I sent the response to talk to them again. Has anyone experienced that? I am trying to stay calm and wait the 60 days, but I'm scared and can't think about anything else.

My timeline:

USCIS received I-485 - September 22nd, 2022

Scheduled Biometrics - September 30th, 2022

Biometrics Appointment - October 17th, 2022 (Case status changed to "Being actively reviewed" on this same day)
RFE was sent - December 5th, 2022 (letter available online 2 days after that, then response was received according to FEDEX on December 19th, 2022).

Thank you.

Visitor visa for Brazilian mom to meet her grandchild

Hi everyone,

I have been a U.S. Citizen for a couple years now, and am pregnant with my first child due in March.
This will be the first grandchild on my side of the family and my mom was planning on coming to help and meet her grandchild in May or June 2023. She lives in Brazil, had a visitor visa and was here visiting in January 2019.
It turns out her visitor visa expired in November 2022 and the earliest she could schedule the interview is June 2024 where she lives, or if traveling to another city for consulate, October 2023.

is there any way to expedite, get the visa sooner or apply for some kind of extension since she did have a valid one until recently?
is it allowed to apply for the visa in a different country other than your home country?

I751 application - automatic 24 month extension expiring with no USCIS contact/appointment

I submitted my I751 application to remove conditions on my green card in Dec 2020, and received an automatic 24 month extension of the expiration date on my green card.

That 24 month Green Card extension is now almost up - on January 18th, in 8 days. I work for a VA hospital, and need to prove my continued US work eligibility for my employment.

I've been calling USCIS for months; last week I heard that my interview request was "escalated" with the local field office. But more than 72h have gone by without further contact.

Is there anything else I can do to get an interview or an additional extension stamp? Should I try to show up there at the USCIS office without an appointment? (this seems like it won't work, but is better than doing nothing)

I'm reading online that possibly the validity of my resident status and right to work is different than my green card - and maybe I still maintain this, even if my GC extension lapses. Is this true? Any other ways to prove that I remain a legal resident and able to work?

Thank you very much! Very stressful.

I-751 processing and urgent travel (SPLIT & merged)

I ve recently submitted my I-751 application with a divorce waiver. and just seen today that they cashed my money order.

Assuming that it means they accepted my application, I was wondering if there would be any issues if I were to travel internationally within the next few weeks.

My greencard expires on March 10, and I was planning on spending a week in Brazil in late January, so I would be back in the US early February.

Do I need to wait until I get the extension letter and should I take the extension letter with me, even though the greencard won t expire until March?

I haven t traveled internationally since moving here in 2018, and was just wondering how the process was upon arrival back into the United States, and what documents I need to have with me. Thanks im advance!

Petitioning for parents and brother of spouse who is now USCF

Hello all,

My wife has been in the US for 11 years now and became a USC last year. I am so appreciative of this forum and everyone on it as it helped us navigate the i129f petition process many years ago. Now that my wife is a USC I was curious what the process would be to bring her parents and brother to the US if they chose to come? From what I've been reading she should i130 for her parents and then once they arrive they can petition for her brother. Does that mean he would need to stay in Brazil by himself until the petition finished processing?

Please let me know if there are any additional questions.
