My husband is a citizen of Brazil but a US Permanent Resident. After he came here in 2014 but before he had his green card his mother passed away. His father is alone in Rio and having health and depression issues. We have been trying to renew his passport which expired. We had to send original documents, his old passport and a money order to the consulate in Chicago.USPS has lost the documents and were kinda in a panic. We have no way of getting another copy of his birth certificate or the old passport. They haven t got the documents in Chicago. The money order was never cashed. We are trying to have USPS search which involved filling out forms with them but so far nothing. He needs to just get there. He can get documents there if he can just get there and renew it before flying back since he plans to stay several months but we need to know if Brazil will even allow him entry. I contacted the airlines and they sent told me to contact TSA. TSA told me to contact US Department of State. They told me that they only deal with US Citizens abroad. Has anyone had to travel home? Can he enter his own country with any other form of ID or his green card and will he even be allowed to fly. Amazed that even the airline could nit answer this. It has to happen to other green card holders. Can anyone give me any leads. He needs to get back to his dad as soon as possible but we can t just spend thousands on airfare if we aren t sure he will be allowed entry into his home country.

Hi, everyone! I'm not in the AOS process yet, I'm currently in my homecoutry and I work as a freelancer and I'm planning on making ends meet with passive income now through a RedBubble store I get my payments through paypal (with a brazilian address on there, so I get the money in my own currency, not in dollars) and transfer them to my bank account in my home country but I have freelance clients in my homecountry and in the US I know it's illegal to work during the process of AOS, but I wanted to get more into detail as how does freelance and passive income get categorized with the legal stuff TIA PS: Idk if everybody knows what passive income is, so here goes basic explanation RedBubble is a website where you can upload illustrations and photos, for example and then people can buy shirts, mugs, etc with your illustration or photo printed on it the products are sold in the US, but the only thing I actually do is upload my art (the website takes care of printing and shipping) and then I earn a percentage of the sales that stays on my account balance on the website after that I can transfer from there to my paypal account so I wonder if I would have to close my store during AOS and stop freelancing or if there are ways of keep doing what I do

My wife arrived in the U.S. in 2018 from Brazil with a Tourist Visa for a visit. The Visa expires in 2028. She then arrived in January of this year on a K-1 Visa. We were married in March. We have filed the authorization to travel and the change of status. We were told today that it would be another 4-6 months before her paperwork is processed. She planned on traveling in November, 3 months from now because of a court date. My question is karma is she able to still travel with her tourist Visa while awaiting the processing of her paperwork? Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
