Hi all!

I have being reading a lot of foruns about medical, vacines stuff...and some information I didn´t find.

My question is, if for example, I don´t have the hepatit B vacine, and the doctor during the medical ask me this one...But this vacine have 3 shots (the second is one month after the first one and the third one is five months after the second)...So, I will need to take the others shot in USA( they will permit me to travel with just part of the vacine?) or I will need to wait here in Brazil until have all done? Same question for all other vacines, Hepatit was just an example...

Thank you very much,

Ali

YES  in fact a K-Visa holder can travel without any vaccinations done, and just have them don in the USA.

You are required to have the vaccinations started before filing to adjust status after marriage to a US Citizen, and then have the vaccination record transfered to a supplement by a civil surgeon in the USA. Most C.S. will sign off on the supplement after the vaccination series have been started.

Citizenship has nothing to do with the cost of vaccination.

Anyway, many have them done at their local county health department here in the USA, cost is not much there, or you can have a family doctor, or lastly the Civil Surgeon can do it. We had them done before leaving China, the series was started there, and the C.S. used the record we got in China, and transfered them to the supplement.

A warning about some C.S. some of them do not understand that a K-Visa holder only needs the supplement done, and not the full medical. You need to shop around, and either find one that does, or visit them and bring the directions for adjustment of status (I-485) and point out in the instructions where K-Visa holders only need the supplement, we did this and the fee went from $300+ for full medical down to $35 to just do the supplement.

I just think that like here in Brazil, we don´t pay for most vacines, the government give for free for citizens..so, I think that they have like this in USA....but as you said is not so expensive...that is ok.

And WOW...$300 down to $ 35?? Open eyes for all tips that the VJs provide here.

Thank you a lot.

Depending on if you are insured over there or not and if your health insurance would cover that. I am guessing until your married you wont be insured.

It could be expencive yes,why dont just just take the vaccine with you from your home country? Thats how I am doing it.

ok, thank you.

About the vaccine here or there......as I wrote in the beggining, for hepatit B for example, it is necessary 3 shots, and took 6 months to complete all...before this time I hope to be in USA with my fiance.
