I'm just a little distraught my fiance finished her interview today everything was going good til the consular asked what our plans together were my fiance answered truthfully that we intend to have a child and raise our family everyone said to make sure she did not say she intended to work so of course she told them it wasnt her intention my income this yr was just a little over 30k which surpassed the 22k requirement for her and her daughter but because she said we intended to have another child they based the income on a 4 person family and said my income was insufficient last yr i made 42k my work is like that good yrs and bad yrs but they told her either i have to show substainable income or she has to write a letter that she would be willing to work they would not let her write the letter there told her to talk to me first and told her that she had to convince them that she was not agreeing to work just to get the visa????? this makes no sense to me i could use some hugs right about now she is gonna go back jan 2nd with a letter any suggestions on what it should say

I'm sorry, but it's very difficult to read. It's like one giant sentence.

Have her write the letter and return as the embassy asked. Perhaps you can also write a letter and let the embassy know you don't intend to have another child right away, not until you have sufficient income?

Hopefully someone with experience with this particular embassy will have some suggestions.

Good luck! It's not over just yet.

Easy Solutions:

Have her go to doctor and get birth control.

Get the IUD which last for 5 years, it is implanted by a doctor.

Have her also show receipt from doctor with explantion.

Once she gets to USA, she can have it removed.......

wow I can't believe they are very particular with details like that now. Just give them what they want I guess.

More likely the visa will be put on hold until the required document is given. As long as they didn't return her passport she'll have her visa hopefully but adds up another time of waiting.

Best to both of you!

Damn right they are getting stricter! With all the lay-offs and increasing unemployment, the likelyhood of anyone finding a job, especially a new immigrant, is diminshing. Have you been watching TFC and TV Patrol for the Fil-Am news? Filipinos are returning in droves, and worker contracts are not being renewed, especially with the Obama adminstartion expected to begin a new era of protectionism.

That is my rant. Now for my suggestion: Provide copies of the last three years of income tax returns to show that you are making at least 125% of the expected poverty income guidelines that they will not publish for two months yet! It is pretty hard to plan for a requirement that no one knows about yet.

Hokey Smoke!

Rocky: "Baby, are they still mad at us on VJ?"

Bullwinkle: "No, they are just confused."
