Shipping my things to US

Hi guys,

Has anyone shipped their thing to US. Is there any company that you would recommend me using to ship my things. I don't like using FEDEX, DHL because they are so expensive. I mean the shipments that would take one month to get to US. I'm okay with that. Since I'm shipping two huge boxes of personal things like books, clothes, etc.

For one you can take 2 huge boxes when you fly to the US. Normally 32K each.

Depending on where you are, you can try Eagle Freight in Calamba (Laguna)and Ayala Alabang (NCR). Don't have a link, just Google it. Also, you may want to Google Balikbayan, shipping works both ways ; - )

For one you can take 2 huge boxes when you fly to the US. Normally 32K each.

yes usually its 32kls or 70lbs but better to ask the airline. some airlines only accepts 50lbs. like continental good luck

It's still very expensive..I've called 2 cargo companies its thru air freight though and costs $300/box or 15k pesos. It's way tooo much!

Maybe others have experience sending boxes to the US here. Please give us advice. Thanks!

I don't know the name of shipping companies but a friend of my wife's said her family ships all the time to US for some stores the family has here and a 1 meter cubic box costs $18 and takes 3 weeks to get here.

Claudeth had to pay an extra $70 with all her stuff but it did come with her on the airplane

you can exceed 32kls on your luggage but you have to pay. i would suggest balikbayan box is cheaper depends where you from and the destination of the package.

my mom shipped some of my stuff thru UPS. it was a 10kg box and it costs arnd P4T.. UPS told her to make use of the 10kg weight allowance or else she'd pay extra. and to have leather goods sent would cost extra as well.. had 2 pairs of shoes sent to me.

anyway, just check the UPS website.. they also have a 25kg box

hey guys, as a result of this thread i googled up freight forwarders and emailed a couple of them i found on the net. here's one reply that i got:

Dear x x x,

For personal effects, US Federal requires the consignee to personally go to the Virginia-warehouse where the cargo will be forwarded. Therefore, you can claim and will just have to pay there a very minimal amount. Pick-up is very practical than let a broker or cargo forwarder do that for you. However, we can provide you a door(MNL) to VA(warehouse) BUT please advise where in Virginia. Warehouse in VA is in Richmond:

PROCESSING-PHP 2500
