K1 vs. K3 visa

I need advice as to which visa to apply for. I am in a relationship with a Ghanaian man. We want to get married but aren't sure if we should do it here in the U.S. where I am from, or if we should get married in Ghana. I have heard so many different things about the advantages/disadvantages of each visa. I really could use some clarification as to which option is the best/easiest/fastest means of getting him here. Fastest is K-1. Cheapest and longest is CR-1/IR-1. If you get stuck in AR or AP, then no visa option will be particularly fast.
