Do you think i could use this as proof of my perm residency for FASA? (financial aid). I applied a while ago to help pay for my spring semester and they requested proof of residency - so i had my interview and now received this letter. I would wait for the greencard but im worried that it'll be too late by the time i receive it and we dont have the money to pay for the classes without a loan from fasa. Thanks.

12-06-2006 NOA1 (Day 4)

03-05-2007 NOA2 - YAY!! (Day 89))

05-04-2007 INTERVIEW!!!!!! - APPROVED! (Day 149)

05-10-2007 Visa received (Day 155)

05-17-2007 ARRIVED IN PHOENIX (Day 162)

05-25-2007 Applied SSN

06-04-2007 Received SSN in the mail

06-14-2007 Passed driving test and now have my license

07-12-2007 MARRIED

07-24-2007 Changed name with SSA

If you have received your welcome to America letter then your greencard is in the mail and on its way to you..... but back to your question.... no you cant use the welcome letter as it does not prove it is your letter.... they will only accept your Greencard, but you should get it very soon....

Thanks - I hope it comes real soon coz im so worried that i wont make it in time. Out of curiosity ... how doesnt it proove its my letter when my full name, address and Alien reg number is on it? Thanks

it will be there soon, don't worry. I got mine in about a week and a half

06.27.07: Package sent (AOS & EAD)

07.1.07: Package received

07.12.07: NOA for I-130, I-485 & I-765

07.17.07: Biometrics Appointment (went in early)

11.21.07: Interview appointment in downtown Los angeles aproval

12.03.07: Received green card in mail

Because anyone can make up their own? With today's copiers and printers it really isn't too difficult to recreate a welcome letter.
