I apologize if this is redundant. I did a site search on Pregnant and Pregnancy and could not find the information I am looking for. Here is my situation;

Filed I-129F End of May 2007

Visited Fiancee first two weeks in Sept 2007

Find out she is pregnant the last week in October 2007

NOA2 Approved November 2nd. 2007

If she were not pregnant we would be looking at Medical at St Luke's in Manilla and an interview after the first of the year. My question is does her being pregnant have any effect on the process? Does she have to be approved and travel before her third trimester starts (March 14th)? Are there any rules specific to the Philippines concerning pregnancy and I-129F Visas?

I am not getting much sleep lately. I thought I would be happier with an NOA2 but the anxiety just changes to different issues.

My thanks in advance for any help anyone out there can give us!

It doesn't speed up the process, but it changes a few things. She will have a different medical and wont be able to get all of the vaccines while she is pregnant. Its unlikely she will be allowed to travel late during her pregnancy. If thats the case, the child would be born abroad and you would have to file a report for a birth abroad to get a passport for the child.

I have also asked the question about pregnancy issue weeks before my fiance visited me last month. I got some replies saying that it will not matter at all if the beneficiary will get pregnant while K1 petition is in process. But I would suggest that you have to ask at the Embassy if they'll need something from you like a letter stating that the baby is yours. And I think, you will then need to prove your capability of supporting a family of three now instead of just you and your fiance. I am not an expert to it so I would say, ask the embassy in Manila.

As to the travel condition for pregnant women here in the Philippines. What I have heard from my friends who got pregnant is that they were asked by airlines and/or shipping lines to present a doctor's certificate stating that they are fit to travel. The certificate should be issued by her OB. And the airline company will also ask the passenger to sign an affidavit that in case something will happen to the pregnant passenger during the duration of the trip, the company is not liable and should not be held liable for any unforeseen incident or anything bad that will happen to the pregnant passenger on the duration of the trip.

Good luck to you and your fiancee.

And cheer up coz you got yourself a blessing. :-)

My USC wife was pregnant when we went through the process (she was in the UK with me). We made inquires if this would help speed up the process, we were told it wouldn't make a difference. Since my son was born near the time we moved the only hassle was getting him a US passport. we had to register his birth and the US embassy in London put a rush on his passport (which we got 1 week before we were due to leave).

I did find at the embassy that since we had a child together it prove that we were in a committed relationship.

My thanks to all who responded! My fiancee had been hearing things from people around her about special waiting periods or that we had to have been together for so long, etc. I feel much better now and as always can not wait for her to be able to come here.

Take care!!!
