I scheduled an infopass appt for tomorrow first thing in the morning to see what is taking so long with my I-751 approval. On Sep 14 was 1 year since my conditional PR card expired and it is way pass the normal processing time. I have already submitted my N-400 but I want to make sure the I-751 starts moving. I will let you know what "story" they come up with tomorrow. Wish me luck!!

My friend is in the same situation as you.... she has filed for citizenship but was still waiting for her 10 year card approval... when she went for her N-400 interview they approved her lifting conditions at the same time, the interviewing officer told her that it happens all the time.... infact filing for N-400 is one of the ways people use to force a decision on their lifting conditions....

Hope you hear something soon...

Well, I am back from my infopass appt. It was just a waste of my time. The officer said that these cases can take 2 years or more to get an answer. My case is waiting to be reviewed by an officer and there is nothing he can do about it. I asked him if there was anything he could do like call or something and he said "Sorry I can't help you like that" The he goes on saying that I should just continue waiting that I will eventually get an answer.

I am frustrated because I know people who applied 6 or 7 months after me, to the same center and we were all from the Chicago area and they got their paper work and GC done in like 7 months.

Hopefully this will not delay my N-400 application and processing....

I can't wait until I am free from the Inmigration Department.

We also did the same thing and did an Infopass appointment in Salt Lake City to check on my husbands I-751. It is going on almost 9 months and no biometrics letter yet so we were getting worried. The lady we talked to was very nice and told us that the processing time out of TSC is AT LEAST 15 months wait and if we do reach the year expiration of the extension letter to come back and they will give you some stamp in your passport extending it again! I guess nothing to do but wait... at least you can extend it again, and its their fault so you should be able to! Just thought I would pass on the info to everyone else who is waiting!

3/26/07 Applied for removal of conditional (TSC)

4/10/07 Received 1 year extension letter

nothing since.....

I am putting a letter to Ombudsman and the Congresswoman for our area in the mail today.

mississippigal17: As you can see from my timeline, I didn't get an appt for Biometrics until a year after our I-751 was received. It is crazy...

I just don't want the delay in my I-751 to delay the N-400.
