Ok so here is the deal....

My husband's health plan through work is WAYYYY to expensive for us, so I need to get indervidual health insurance. However I just found out because I have only lived here for 7 months I cant get it!

Any ideas?!

I have had individual health insurance from the day I arrived in the US. Where did the information you can't get insurance because of the length of time you have lived here come from.

Wow, I couldn't afford insurance if my work didn't pay for part of it. I would have to give up my truck or maybe even golf

I could not afford health insurance before I was working..... all the individual plans were above $300.00 a month...

My union is fighting the retiree insurance because the county wants to push it to about $600 a month. That would be $1200 for Claudeth and me, ugh

I'm with Blue Cross/Blue Shield and it is an individual policy. Arranged it while still in the UK and it started the day I arrived.

Not sure what you would call expensive but I would have thought an individual policy would be more expensive than one subsidised by an employer. My policy with covers full medical and dental is $368 a month with a $6000 deductible.

we have an individual policy through anthem...it's about $250 a month for both of us and covers dr visits and prescriptions and all that good stuff...check out their website to see if it's available in your area
