Timeline

Should I submit the DS-230 part 1 and required documents togther or just submit the DS-230 first?

My timeline:

K-1

10-12-2005 I-129F Sent to Vermont Service Center

12-12-2005 Rec Petition I-129F NOA1

I-129F RFE(s) to Montreal, Canada

2006-01-27 Montreal consulant asked for copy of my passport

2006-03-07 Montreal consulant asked for residential information

2006-04-08 Packet 3 Received

2006-04-21 DS-230 sent

2006-05-06 Check list sent

2006-05-09 Check list received by consulant

2006-05-18 Interview letter received

2006-07-05 Interview!~

2006-07-06 Visa in hand

2006-07-23 Arrive USA

2006-08-04 Just Married!~

AOS

2006-10-07 file AOS

2006-10-16 NOA1 for I-485

2006-10-30 case transfered to California service center

2006-11-30 received biometrics letter

2006-12-21 biometrics appointment

2007-02-09 welcome letter

Removing Conditional residency

2008-12-2 Mail the package though Fedex

2009-01-10 biometrics appointment

2009-05-07 conditional residency removed

2009- new green card received

From your timeline it looks like you haven't even gotten your case number from the NVC yet? Much less received Packet 3? When you receive Packet 3 it will tell you what to do. The Vancouver consulate asks that you fax part 1 of the ds230 in right away and then gather the rest of the documents.

12/19/05 NOA1 physically Recieved

12/15/05 NOA1 (Postmark Date)

12/05/05 NOA1 Official Recieved Date (Printed on NOA1)

12/14/05 NOA1 Official Notice Date (Printed on NOA1)

Waiting Begins for NOA2

03/09/06 NOA2physically Received

03/07/06 NOA2 (Postmark Date)

03/06/06 NOA2 Official Date (Printed on NOA2)

Never touched just Approved (Aprox 85-90 days depending on which days you count from)

3/20/06 NVC.... Received Processing

3/21/06 NVC Mailed to B.C. Consulate

3/24/06 I emailed consulate asking where is packet 3?

4/03/06 Consulate responded to my email saying packet 3 was mailed 3/23/06 and consulate attached packet 3 so I faxed DS230 and requested interview date asap

4/5/06 Medical (booked two weeks previous)

4/6/06 Consulate phoned to say received fax and booked interview

5/5/06 Interview in Vancouver - Approved!

5/9/06 Drove to Seattle then flew to Tampa - Yay welcome back 'home'

mid July - got married

early August - sent AOS/EAD applications

08/14/06 NOA for AOS/EAD

08/22/06 RFE - sent more financial info (most they already had, but we resent anyway)

09/09/06 - Biometrics

09/11/06 -NOA - transferred to California Service Center

10/16/06 - Approved without interview!!!!! Yay, what a birthday present! (but still no EAD!)

This looks really confusing to me, as I have already received the DS-230 form, DS-156 and the instrucations of how to get a medical check, police certificates and so on.... Do you mean this is Pack 3? What does NVC mean?

Yes that is what is termed packet 3. NVC is the National Visa Centre. When you receive the letter with your interview date that is packet 4. :time:

Submit the DS-230 Part I first. Collect all your documents as required by the check-list. Once the check-list is complete, send it in. After that, you will get your Packet 4. When you go to your interview, you will take all the documents you have gathered and/or obtained to the interview.

11-29-05: Mailed I-129F Petition to CSC

12-06-05: NOA1

03-02-06: NOA2

03-23-06: Interview Date May 16

05-17-06: K-1 Visa Issued

05-20-06: Arrived at POE, Honolulu

07-17-06: Married

AOS Timeline

08-14-06: Mailed I-485 to Chicago

08-24-06: NOA for I-485

09-08-06: Biometrics Appointment

09-25-06: I-485 transferred to CSC

09-28-06: I-485 received at CSC

10-18-06: AOS Approved
