Lamb is awesome when it's roasted or BBQed, don't like it stewed much.

Btw, the pic with the white sheep is not really the type of lamb I usually see being sold to meat, those are the ones they use for wool.

At least the lamb we eat in Brazil look like this.

Lamb IS best roasted or BBQed. Once or twice a year, we'll roast a couple under ground, cooked slowly all night long in a closed pit with apples, onions, garlic, and wine. Saboroso!!

10Yr GC arrived 07/02/09 - Naturalization is next

The drama begins - again!

And now the drama ends - they took the Green card . . .

My family has a farm in Brazil and we raise lambs. The ones that lose their mother and end up bottle fed we can never eat ourselves, but we still sell them as long as we don't do the butchering at our farm, or in our presence, at least. We do kill a couple every week 'cus dad sells this to his local bar where he plays card games weekely and they bet the bill, beer and roasted lamb. That's a monday tradition so on Sundays we butcher the lamb that will be roasted on Monday. It's YUMMY!

I havent tried it either. I imagine Ill have to do so towards the end of the year, as its traditional to have lamb/sheep for Eid. It will be hard to cook it without singing "Mary had a little lamb".

Every year at our church's Easter feast, lamb is on the menu. The man who cooks it wears a shirt that says, "Mary had a little lamb....but I ate it."

What was the name of that act, Sherri Lewis and Lamb Chops? Just can't picture cooknig Lamb Chops

Actually, you'd be cooking Sherri Lewis' hand :P

mmmm....lamb....yummy. The last time I had any though I think was when we went to Scotland for a friend's wedding. It was the main course. That was nearly 2 years ago. I can't seem to find any lamb in the stores here, and there are no local restaurants that serve it. The only one I can think of is Jeruslem Garden up in Asheville, an hour away.

I also don't mind goat, its good in a curry. And I loooooooooove venison. Its deer season.

Now I'm hungry.

mmmm...Jeruslem Garden! I like that resturant. I am suprised you can't find lamb in the groceries near you. The ones in my town have a small selection. They always have some roast and chops and even a rack or two of lamb.

Seriously I am going to have to buy a roast now...this thread has made me crave a good roast!
