I would like to go back to my previous last name before I remove conditions so I have it reflected on my new green card. Would it be a red flag for immigration since I changed my name to my husband's name after we got married ?

Any advice ?

It could raise a flag if you are still married to the same person. The question could be if you went into the marriage in good faith.

You know what they say.. perception is 9/10 of reality. Changing your name back in mid-stream may bring about unwanted questions on the validity of your relationship...

why did you decide to change your name right now? is there any reason for that?

If i was the one reviewing the application, i would be a little suspicious. Not that it really means that you went to marriage not in a good faith, it just raises a question why are you changing your name at this moment.

Don't. You can change your name again when you naturalize.

I have a child who has my maiden name and it is extremely important for me to have the same name as he does. My husband wanted to adopt him prior to our marriage and now changed his mind. I would have never changed my name if I knew he was going to back off. And now is the best moment for me because my passport is expired, Virginia marriage certificate does not specify which name I will use and due to this I have to go through hell to get my new passport in my married name. If I changed it right now my new passport would have the correct name without any problems and my new green card would too.

This has nothing to do how our marriage is going because nothing changed and our marriage is just fine.

Could I get denied if I tell them this ?

If your marriage is legit, you have nothing to worry about - otherwise...... I wouldn't.
