Lawyers are people and make mistakes too. So far i've had a lawyer misplace my whole case, loose original marriage certificate, send my divorce order with incorrect names on . LOL So they mess up too and honestly unless you case is complicated you really don't need a lawyer for K1. Hope your RFE gets resolved soon.

Good Luck

Adele

At this point...I agree. I think there is enough information on this site along with experienced individuals to answer all questions and successfully do it yourself. I found this site after the fact.

Yeah they're people but you're also paying them big bucks to not make the mistakes when you could have very well made the same ones yourself for free! :P I'm just not all for lawyers unless your case is unusual or very complicated, with the right advice from somewhere like VJ you can do it yourself (for free!) :)

I hired a lawyer and also got an RFE. My husband didn't think we needed a lawyer but I thought it would help us and save us a few fights.

Wrong! The lawyer has made a couple of "boo booos" and my husband does not trust anything he says anymore.

I am beginning to wish I could fire him but at this point I think it would cause more harm than good.

Can I sue him if my husband decides to go back to his home country out of insanity and poverty?
