We just received our packet 3 from Montreal and have a question???

My wife is the "sponsor" for the Affidavit of support and I am the principal immigrant. I have a promised job in the US, she does not. If I understand this correctly, the form bases the "support" issue on her income, not on mine. She has been working in Canada, but that does nothing to establish her eligibility to support me, is this correct?

That's correct, foreign income is not taken into consideration in her ability to be able to support you in the U.S..

Ditto what people said. You will need a US co-sponsor (citizen or permanent resident).

Also, do note that your offer of employment cannot be more than 6 months old when you interview- ask the employer to hold on to that letter until time gets closer!
