I am asking this question for a friend that has not started the AOS process yet but has a question.

They have been married for two years and he is in USA on K3 visa.

I thought I saw some people on here get AOS approved and their green card in the mail without going to an actual interview. Am I right? Is this possible to get your green card without having to go to an AOS interview.

PLease post your experiences and advice.

3/12/07- Mailed I-130 to CSC

3/19/07-CSC received application

3/23/07-Received NOA-1 in mail from CSC

5/31/07-Touched!

7/30/07-Touched!

11/06/07-Pick up Visa

11/10/07-POE Atlanta

12/23/07-Chicago Lockbox received AOS and EAD petition

01/04/08-NOA1 received for AOS and EAD via mail

02/26/08-Email from CRIS EAD Approval Letter sent out

02/27/08-EAD Card received in mail

02/28/08-Applied for SS#

03/01/08-Received AOS Appt. Letter in Mail(No touches or emails on this case)

It does happen in simple cases, this has been happening for about 1 year now, no telling if an interview will be needed when lifting conditions, on the 2 year conditional green-card.

I have not seen anyone yet post about AOS approval without interview for a 10 year unconditional card though.

Your friend if filing now after 2 years of marriage will be getting the 10 year unconditional card and probably will have to interview, because it will be USCIS's last chance at an interview to determine a genuine marital relationship.
