Regardless, Peejay normally makes it very clear when he is posting a thread which references illegal aliens, so why would he be so coy now? And again I ask, how does it effect this particulary incident one way or another anyway?

A bad day? No, quite the opposite. However, as I have already pointed out, Peejay isn't slow in coming forward with his 'illegal alien' stories. I am still waiting to hear how this changes the fate of the dead man or his assailant as well. I guess it was a red herring after all.

If being an illegal alien is relevant to a story, fine, but trying to put it into something where it has no place is simply provocative.

houston is a sanctuary city

it has a large proportion of illegals

the two in the story were renting a 10x10 room.

The bells that are ringing are the ones that chime Charles is unable to think in terms of poverty unless it pertains to illegality. Still, sure, go ahead, wait for Peejay to confirm that it's a crime relating to illegals...and then tell me how this changes the facts materially? Are your sypathies for the victim/agressor based solely on their being legal or illegal? How utterly shallow.

maybe you should get that chime checked out as my curiosity in asking that is honest, unlike yours which is just out to start something. i didn't say that poverty = illegals, now did i? i'm saying their situation sounds quite suspicious, ph. maybe you should quit being so rabid whenever someone even mentions the word illegals and try opening your eyes and your mind for a while. it might improve your personality somewhat

i never said it would be different, you did. it really makes no difference at all if they are legal or illegal and you and i both know that, so why are you on a soapbox beating your chest about it? i'm just wondering, that's all. now build a bridge and get over it.

You are right...I didn't post this with an angle toward illegal aliens. They might be. Sometimes the Houston Chronicle (aka: the Houston Comical) posts immigration status' of victims and assailants, but no mention at this date.

I posted the story because it is another stupid, senseless murder over nothing that is all too common in our city. Guns, knives, baseball bats, fists...people get killed for little or no reason. In this case...over smelly feet that some soap, water, and air freshener would have cured. It seems that life is cheap around here. Sad, but true.

Charles does have a point...illegal aliens make up roughly 1/6 of the city's population, but there is no shortage of illegal alien impact stories in our local news at any given time. Plenty of fodder for PJ to post on VJ.
