hello,

well, today i found out that my wife did not pack her birth certificates in her suitcase. i'm ready with all of the paperwork and evidence (minus her birth certificates).

her mom, in thailand, has the original and the english translations.

if i have them faxed over to me, do you think i can use the faxed copies in my I-485 submission?

thanks

Can't see why you couldn't as the original isn't required for submitting.

Just have it sent over for the interview if you should have one.

Correct,

USCIS no longer routinely requires submission of original documents or "certified copies." Instead, ordinary legible photocopies of such documents (including naturalization certificates and alien registration cards) will be acceptable for initial filing and approval of petitions and applications.

You only need a copy to submit! Just so the fax is clear! A fax copy is a copy!
