What NOT TO BRING to the USA

My question is directed to those who have passed the different POEs in the USA:

Definitely "liquids" are prohibited for carry on luggages, what about for luggages to be checked in , does this also apply?

I have been to many asian countries and liquids are okay inside the luggages to be checked in, but of course USA is quite strict about it because recently my Aunt wanted to send a bottled herbal medicine to the US from the Philippines via DHL but they wont accept it, the post office refused too.

I want to bring a liquid chinese medicine that I have been using for along time now for my allergies but not sure if it will be allowed even if I check it in. It is in a plactic bottle ( like shampoo)

Your input is highly appreciated.

Thank you,

Myla

Myla

Obviously, i haven't gone to my interview and soon to fly on November 15 (hopefully) if approved of a visa. However, hope my advance reading would somehow qualify me to answer your question. :D

On Tuesday, September 26, 2006, TSA adjusted the ban on liquids, gels, and aerosols.

I hope this will help you Ms. Myla. I have read this the other month and just recalled the web site so i could possibly help you with your question. Hope this will address your needs. Have a happy and safe trip!

Thanks a lot for the link. Our domestic flights though still ban liquids as carry on from what I have experienced during my travels to Manila recently. . .I am just not sure with other domestic airport terminals. Our govt should also change that :)

The link is very informative, again thank you :)

You are most welcome Ms. Myla. Like you, i have been travelling to different Asian countries as well and have also taken several domestic flights on different domestic airports namely: Manila NAIA, Subic, Cagayan de Oro City Airport, Tagbilaran City Airport and Pagadian City Airport. Based on experiences all domestic airports follow the same security procedures. Noticeably, stricter implementation of security procedure is beneficial but in some cases it delays the checking-in process. Well, what matters though is the safety of travellers. Anyway, bon voyage!

If there's a Filipino store around in your area, you won't have to worry about the products that we Filipinas are used to. Better ask the fiance to look around and see if there's a store close to where you will be living. I'm lucky we have an oriental store here and just the other day, I bought Likas Papaya soap and Maxi peel. :luv: Feeling artista ulit ako (I feel like a star again). :P

Believe me I am bringing too but just the other brand, lol  Anyhow, since you brought that up, what do you think about spa salts? ( colored ones) Would it be safe too? My fiance lives in small county in Florida and still have to look for a Filipino store although one member here who is one hour away from him said there is one nearby. Just want to have everything the first few months so I dont have him running around :) Thanks a lot

Can you ship it to your US address? Not sure how that work International. I am sure it will be fine inside your check in luggages. When I went to Africa I took my own Tranquil Moment a very large bottle (unopen) in my check-in luggage, had no problem.
