hello all--

i'm finishing the 1864 form and have a question. it asks for my mailing address, and then residence is different from mailing address. i'm in college, so i'm living impermanently at another address, but still claim residency with my parents at home. if i put my college address in the residency box, will it complete things with my father being a joint sponsor? i'm worried if i put my residency in MA alone and my mailing address in PA with my family they won't count me and my father as living in the same residency for joint sponsor purposes.

feedback?

Put your resident address on the RESIDENT line, if this is your parent's home that is your residence. A college address is not a persons residence. You can use it as a mailing address, but if it were me I would use resident address as mailing address too.

A JOINT sponsor can be anyone even if not living in the same resident or even in the same state, the Joint sponsor files an I-864 NOT an I-864A.
