My wife and I aren't at the house today and we got a call from Sara's mom saying we got a large package from immigration.

Is this the final step or do you think they sent us everything back denied? What is the big package do you think?

Can she open it for you and have a look? I would have been saying rip it open and read it to me :)

I'm not sure what it could be. The interview letter is just one or two sheets of paper.

Ask her to open it!

Okay we just opened it. Dated September 10th, it says:

1) Enclosed Affidavit of Support AOS Fee Bill must be paid

2) When we receive the AOS fee we will send you further information on the Affidavit of Support (I-864) forms

I was under the impression there was no fee for these forms first off. No biggie it's $70.

Then I got a DS-3032, which I don't think I need to fill out?

Is this good or bad?

Hang on... is it from the National Visa Centre? It sounds like they mistakeningly forwarded your approved I-130 to the NVC assuming that you're going to interview in Canada. I would contact the NVC and tell them that you're adjusting in the U.S. and have already filed for AOS.

Sounds about right. I am going to have to call them first thing tomorrow morning (7-30-12am EST are their hours  )

Do you think this will be a big problem?

I neglected to mention on the sheet it shows my Visa as a CR-1. Is this correct if I am IN the USA filing AOS?

Thanks!

I don't think it'll be a problem to just contact the NVC tomorrow and tell them there was an error and you're adjusting status in the U.S. so you're not going to process through the NVC, etc. You don't need to pay the NVC anything as you've already paid and had your biometrics done with your I-485.

Your I-130 is already approved which is part of what is needed for the I-485 to be approved. The other part is for the I-485 to be approved at or after your interview which hopefully you'll get a notice about soon! :)

It turns out that because the I130 was filed before the 485 they assumed I was applying for an entry Visa. NVC said I have to email them my case # and my new AOS case number and they will put the NVC case on HOLD. If my 485 is denied, I can open the NVC case when I am in Canada and enter that way.

Sort of a neat backup. May be a good route to go in future for other applicants and I wasn't even intending on that.
