Visa travel...

Hello all,

J's K1 visa interview was approved on Sept 10, 2007. J wants to attend a graduation for her sister in CDO, Philippines, in February 2008 with me, and I was wondering if this later travel date to the USA would be a red flag come AOS time, or would it be OK? I would imagine the expiry of her K1 visa to travel would be around March 10, 2008. Anyone with suggestion or experience with this, please post and let us know if this will be a problem or a red flag for AOS. Thank you.

I'm going to guess that you mean she will not be using her visa until after her sister's graduation in February. She can use her visa anytime within that six month period. It is not going to influence her AOS. My own experience.... I used my visa two days before it expired. It's not a problem.

OK, thank you for the response. J knows somebody else who also recently got approved, and that person told her that it "was not good" to use the Visa with less than a month left to go before its expiry. I tend to agree with your answer, but I just wanted to hear it from somebody else than me! Thanks.

Hey listen the way I look at it get your fiancee out of the Philippines ASAP graduations are very important but marriage and being with you should be #1 priority. There are two many things that can happend in 6 months to wait. Can someone film the graduation and send it, or how about offering a nice present. Just my opinion Congrats Anyways

D and I initially planned for Jan 2008 travel because it's the best time for both of us. I told him if I can just wait for Feb since it's just a month apart to attend my sister's graduation and he's very ok with it. He also wants to attend my sister's graduation too so I don't think there's any prob with that. He can offer me a nice present too if he wants hahahhaha.
