Does anyone here have trouble mailing letters back to Ben Tre or any other cities or towns in Vietnam? I've been mailing my wife about 20 letters begining of 2006 to now and she only recieved about 3 letters but I recieve all of her letters that she sent me. So, I'm just wondering what would the CO going to say at the interview or count that against us because of lack of communications? The thing is my wife and I talk on the phone and text messages each other every single day. Need some advices please!

thank-you to all.

Hi Cuong,

I never sent my wife any letters so I could not tell you anything. However, I once mailed a package to my wife 3 months prior to my coming to VN. That package did not arrive till 5 months later which I had came to VN and left :) ... Missing letters are common in Vietnam but missing all 17 of them is something I have never heard of. It has been more than a year and a half now and you would have looked into this matter long before. Anyway, it is typical or expected for mails to take about 2 weeks between the US and Vietnam.

If you are worried about it, you need to file a complaint with your local USPS office and try to get something in writing, have your wife do the same with hers in her local town although she might not be able to get anything in writing. Then bring them up at the interview. However, as many members here of have said many many times before, think big picture. Having 20 hand-written letters does not make or break your case. In fact, having too many hand-written letters might cause you more trouble than doing you any good. We are living in the 21st century where emails, text messages, cell phones and other means of e-communication are widely used, thus, presenting the CO with 3" thick of hand-written letters might trigger a red flag.

Just my 2 cents ... Let see what others here have to say. Good luck to you.

I used to be indecisive. Now I am just not sure ...

I had problems sending letters to the Philippines also. It seems that some people sense money in an envelope from America and take it. I started sending Claudeth mail via Express International and it worked fine.

Thao lives is Ben Tre. Every letter and package I sent has made it to her house. It takes a long time though. Sometimes up two weeks. They get to HCMC fast but I don't know what happens after that. I think they deliver mail by bicycle.

06-29-09 received GC in mail

4-18-11 mailed I-751 CSC

CIS Office : California Service Center

Date Filed : 2011-04-18

NOA Date Received : 2011-06-06

Had to make an Info Pass appointment because there was a delay in receiving the NOA for our I-751. Never found out the reason for the delay but they gave Thao a 1 year green card stamp in her passport and we got a the NOA 2 days later.
