Clearly, this man was behaving reprehensibly and irresponsibly to say the least (if the story presented is a fair and acurate view of what happened), but it's not representation of a 'bigger picture' in terms of general parental behaviour any more than any of the other stories were.

Agreed.

EDWARDSVILLE — A 35-year-old mother of two left her children alone at home for more than a hour so she could buy drugs, according to criminal charges filed today in Madison County.

LeeAnn J. Chappel, of the 500 block of Pine St. in unincorporated Rosewood Heights, was charged with a felony for unlawful possession of a controlled substance and with two misdemeanor counts of endangering the life or health of a child. Chappel was charged in Madison County Circuit Court in Edwardsville.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office gave this account of the incident, which happened on Monday.

About 7 a.m. Monday, a report came into the Sheriff’s Office that Chappel left her house and her 2- and 6-year-old children at home for more than an hour. She allegedly was on her way to buy crack cocaine.

When she returned to her home, a sheriff’s deputy was there, investigating the complaint.

The deputy also found what was tested to be crack cocaine in her vehicle.

She was taken to Madison County Jail and her husband was called home from work to take care of the children.

Associate Judge Janet Heflin signed the warrant and criminal information, setting her bond at $15,000.

hmmm..per rick james.." cocaine is a hell of a drug"

Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Chandler officer may be charged in K-9 death

The Chandler police sergeant whose K-9 died after being left in his patrol car was booked into jail today and faces misdemeanor animal cruelty charges.

Sgt. Tom Lovejoy was booked into jail in Mesa earlier this afternoon. The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office is recommending one charge of animal cruelty. Lovejoy could face up to six months in jail and a fine of $1,200 if he is found guilty.

“Our investigation determined that Bandit's death was not an intentional act on Lovejoy's part,” Sheriff Joe Arpaio said, “but it was reckless and for that, Lovejoy must be charged.”

The sheriff's investigation shows Bandit was in the patrol car from 9 a.m. to 10:10 p.m. on Aug. 11. During that time, Lovejoy was running errands for his children, napping, then dining out with his wife. Police Chief Sherry Kiyler released a statement Wednesday:

“The Chandler Police Department was informed today that the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office has completed its criminal investigation regarding Sgt. Tom Lovejoy and the death of K9 Bandit and that misdemeanor charges have been filed. As a department, we respect and support the criminal justice systems and processes in place. We remain saddened by the loss of K9 Bandit. At this time our internal investigation is continuing and further comment by our department would be inappropriate until the completion of this process.”
