Hey all. I am about to send the needed info to my fiance and wanted to know if I got everything in order. I got the:

Employer letter

Notarized Affidavit of support

Bank statements

Birth certificate

K-1 package that was sent in beginning of journey

Proof of ongoing relationship such as Phone card transactions and stuff

As for the birth certificate, did any of you send the original or the copy, or does it make any difference? I know that the Lagos consulate is so different from the others. Can anyone update me on this. Thanks.

Is this about all I need?

So far this whole thing is hat mikey is preparing for me. From what I understood it would also be good to get the latest 2-3 paystubs and notarized copies of tax returns (with the Affidavit of support).

Does the american fiance have to send a birth certificate? I didn't know that...hmm...

Hey for the proof of an ongoing relationship you can also get the emails, IM's and so on

Lagos Consulate do not need your birth certificate they need your fiancee's and for the proof of ongoing relationship i think you meet the requirements. Pls note that phone cards are not accepted in lagos consulate, emails, IM chats, phone records showing your calls to your fiancee,WU receipt, photgraphs of both of you in nigeria, they may also ask for a copy of nigerian visa in passports....I hope this piece of advice will help in a way.

Best of luck,

Jamil
