So instead of doing the namecheck during the AOS it will be done beforehand and then you are given clearance to apply for AOS? Am I reading that right?

If so, thats just putting the horse before the cart, sure the figures for those in FBI name check will disappear into the woodwork in what seems to be a way to best hide how many.

33,000 people waiting over 33 months.... damn!

It would make the most sense from a security perspective to have everyone pass the necessary background checks before they come to the USA on a visa. Of course that would mean that people could be kept apart for years waiting for the checks to clear.

Yep thats how I read it also. So instead of a backlog during the AOS stage you will have 100,000 people stuck waiting apart from each other.

Although I am all for security checks being done, this seems even more unrealistic. At least people are together waiting for these checks to be done.

This seems to be a scary prospect for the future reuniting of families who could then be kept apart even longer.

Is writting to the Ombudsman about probles with outa applications at USCIS any help? I have heard people say that contacteng them for help is good, others say its a bad idea. some say that the O is just a bunch of gloss and that they dont really do any thing for any one. Has any one been sucessful in getting some sort of help with their cases by contacting the Ombudsman? Some one said that its a bad idea to contact them to complain about them when our application is still at the mercy of their hands. Any one have any input?
