I posted this on another forum. I will post it here as well.

So I received something from CIS today - an RFE.

Its a bluish green piece of paper, which mentions that this is an RFE and they want me to respond by the 7th of November, with the evidence. On the next page, they have asked for evidence but apparently the evidence is a statement that they need from me. They have also sent a small envelope with their address, so I am pretty sure thats all that they are looking for.

It mentions that I filed the I-751 with a waiver and asks for a "statement" from me, to explain the conditions surrounding the termination of the marriage and any efforts made by me to save the marriage.

And then it mentions that the decision to approve or deny would depend on the evidence that I provide.

Right now, I am a little unsure of what to make of this. They have not asked me for any other evidence, like bills, tax returns, affidavits, etc, just a statement from me.

Hi! I received the same thing during the processing of my I-751. What I did was, I sent a detailed statement regarding the marriage (from the start up to the divorce) and the reason surrounding the breakdown of my marriage. It was 3 or 4 pages long that I sent back to them and I got approved afterwards.Just follow what they asked you to do and wait what's next after. If they didn't asks you to send other evidences other than the one mentioned, then don't send anything with it..Goodluck to you!!!

Thanks for that post moonlove. I notice that from the time you returned the RFE to the approval email was very little. That is very encouraging. I have some questions for you.

1) I know you already mentioned this but did they ask you the exact same thing that they asked me, which would be to explain the conditions surrounding the termination of marriage?

2) Did they ask you to send any evidence of any counselling that you might have attended?

3) Did you send any kind of evidence at all with the statement, counselling or otherwise?

4) Did you notarize the statement and was it handwritten?

5) Did you go through CSC?

6) You mentioned "start up". Does that include the time right from the beginning, meaning how you met?

7) Did you run the statement by an attorney?

Thanks
