I feel embarrassed parking my car in Newark next to all those beamers.

Seriously, if it ain't the drug dealers and pimps, it's the pharma geeks and wall street guys. Where's a middle class guy to go!

What a beautiful state

Hmmm... I have to say the view outside my window is rather different. What about you VJTroll?

P.S. That line of buildings in the distance there - is actually New York City. 99% of the state is actually outside of the picture. Believe it or not.

There are nicer pictures of NJ. The refinery strip is a very small (and shrinking) part of the state.

Nope, no refineries anywhere near me.

Like this hey:

Linden, New Jersey

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

Bethlehem, PA?

I've thought about it. The commute would be terrible, ever been on 78 during rush hour?

One of my sisters is at Lehigh. I've dropped her off at school a few times after breaks and between Allentown and Bethlehem backs up for no apparent reason on Sunday afternoons. After that I grab 287 and get the hell out of the traffic routes. I can't imagine commuting into NJ.

Southern Jersey is really pretty. It's like they concentrated all their ugliness in one zit.

I'm waiting for Boo-Yah to explain how dirty Pittsburgh is due to the steel industry and how you have to change your shirt midday.

A state with a median household income of 60k (double that of Mississippi) can hardly be characterized as 'poor'.

ETA: I neglected to mention - highest median household income in the nation. More than Kalifornia.

edit that some more....that's old data. you're #2 now

New Hampshire 1 57,352

Don't know how familiar you are with the area but Rt 22 between Union and North Plainfield is the same way. Backups for no reason at any time at all. Weird.

The 22 is too narrow for the amount of traffic that goes through it. Tends to flood in heavy rain.
